Prayer for Those Who Are Grieving

So many people are suffering the loss of a loved one, and you may be one of them. I wish I could take this pain away from you, but I can’t. You must pass through this process of grief in order to heal. And so, I do pray for God’s grace to strengthen you, and to carry you through this time of sorrow. Let’s pray.

Dear Father God,

I pray for those who hurt and feel the deep pain from the loss of a loved one. I lift them up to You, Lord, as You are the only one that can heal the broken hearted and bind up their wounds. (See Psalm 147:3.) And for some, it has been truly a long hard battle, and their physical being is worn down. I pray for Your strength to carry them through this time of weakness. (See 2 Corinthians 12:10.) And I pray for the comfort of the Holy Spirit to be upon each of them, as You wrap Your loving arms around them. (See 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.) And for others, the loss was sudden and unexpected, and they feel overwhelmed from this tragic loss. And I pray that they too will take comfort from this prayer in Psalm 61:2-4 (KJV), “From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings.”

I pray that joy will return to them in their time of mourning, and that the memory of their loved one will bring a sweet joy to their heart, and not the sting of death. And in the days ahead they will find the courage to smile and laugh again and find strength in Your joy. (See Nehemiah 8:10.)

And I ask You, Holy Spirit to give them a dream and they see their loved one in their glorified body with Jesus in heaven. I pray this in faith, amen.

The Reason to Celebrate Christ-mas.

The Reason to Celebrate Christ-mas.

It’s the wonderful time of the year that we call, Christmas. Christmas is actually, Christ-mas, a special celebration of the birth of our Savior on this earth. And although December 25th is not the actual date of our Lord’s birth, it is the official date chosen to celebrate this supernatural event around the world. Let’s look to the Word of God to find our reason to celebrate this special event.

In John 3:16, in the Amplified Version of the Bible we read these beautiful words about a Savior, “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.” God so loved us that He gave to us a Savior, Jesus who saves us from evil. What an amazing gift! And it is a gift that needs to be unwrapped by faith and shared with others.

Then we read in First John 4:10, “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” This precious gift of atonement from Father God, wrapped in the love of Christ has the power, the ONLY power to reconcile a sinful people back to a holy God. This reconciliation was made possible to us through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ through the work of Calvary.

We read in the Christmas story in Luke 2:11, (NIV), “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” The true Christmas story is about the birth of Christ, our Savior who is the true Messiah, the anointed one, who comes from heaven to earth, who was born of a virgin, named Mary to redeem us back to the Father.

And in Matthew 1:21 we learn of His purpose through His name. It says, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their sins.” (NIV) The name that is above all names, Jesus means “God saves.”. And this is our reason to celebrate Christ-mas.

There is Help to Overcome Anxiety

Do you struggle with anxiety and panic attacks? Do you feel overwhelmed? Does your world feel like it’s caving in on all sides at once? There is help to overcome anxiety. Look to Jesus. He’s the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He will never leave you, or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed because we focus on the problem, and in doing so we wind up magnifying our enemy the devil. When in reality, the things he whispers to us are just lies. In John 8:44, Jesus calls him the father of all lies. The devil takes the Scriptures and twists them, and he makes his lies believable to us; once we grab hold of his lies, then they can produce in our life. We are reminded by the words of God in Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” We need to think about what we are dwelling upon–the promises of God or the lies of the devil.

When you feel the negative reports or circumstances are too much to bear, and you feel anxiety try to take control of your mind and emotions, slip away to a quiet place with the Lord. This does not need to be a physical place, but a spiritual one. You are instructed in Matthew 6:6 (NIV), “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

I have come to the realization over and over again that the more time I spend with God, the safer I feel in the security of His loving arms. And I encourage you, the next time you feel overwhelmed by life, choose instead to think about the following:

  1. Focus on the love Jesus has for you.
  2. Contemplate upon His mercy that He feels for you.
  3. Take comfort in the fact that He wills to protect you.
  4. Spend time with Him in prayer until His peace takes over in you.

Let’s pray.

Dear Holy Spirit,

I ask for Your help to overcome this anxiety controlling my mind and emotions. I desire to be free from this and walk in the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. Remind me with Your gentle nudge when I am entering into the realm of anxiety. I know that all things are possible with You, and I can’t do this without You. Thank You for being with me to help me walk in victory over anxiety, in the name of Jesus I pray, amen.

A Prayer of Thanksgiving Before the Manifestation of My Healing

Thanksgiving is a powerful element of prayer for healing before it manifests, and that actually helps it to manifest. It is a form of pure faith to thank God for the miracle before it takes place in the physical realm. It’s honoring God to keep His healing promise to us. Let’s pray this prayer of thanksgiving for healing together.

Dear Father,

I thank You for giving to me a measure of faith. And as I cultivate this faith in You and in Your healing power, all things become possible for me, including my healing. And as my trust in Your promise to heal grows, so too my faith to believe grows.

I align my thanksgiving for my healing with this promise found in Jeremiah 17:14, “Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise.”

I thank You for giving me a free will to believe, for taking my shame upon Yourself, for wearing the crown of thorns so I am now delivered from the curse, for shedding Your blood for my healing at the whipping post, for wearing the crown of thorns so I can be delivered from the curse, for releasing Your blood through Your hands so I can now have this blessing of healing, for spending all that You had so I could have all of Your benefits. For completing the work of the cross for my well-being in spirit, soul, and in my physical body. I than You, Jesus, for shedding Your blood for me at the whipping post so I can live on this earth in a healed state.

Your Word tells me that it is by my faith I am healed. So, I activate in advance my faith in Your healing promise that tells me that by the whippings of Jesus I am healed, and so I am.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

The Attacks are Real, but Our Authority is Greater!

The attacks are real, but our authority is greater! Jesus tells us in John 16:33 that in this world we will have tribulation, meaning difficult times. But Jesus was given all authority in heaven and on earth, (See Matthew 28:18.). And He being a giver, gave to us authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions (demons), and over all the power of the enemy (satan). (See Luke 10:19.)

I know that times are tough but be encouraged today with this power filled message about how our authority is greater.

Personal Note:

I will be traveling to our children’s home in Guatemala tomorrow, October 24th. I am asking for your prayers for my team, and for the children in the home, along with the workers and staff that oversee the children’s home for us.

  1. Safety (Our travel to and from Guatemala, and our time in country as well.)
  2. Fruitful time of ministry and fun with the kids, workers, and staff.
  3. And that God would be glorified in all that we do.

Jesus Wills to Heal the Whole Person

Jesus wills to heal the whole person. The whole person is spirit, soul, and body. The spirit is the eternal being who will either spend eternity in heaven or hell. This is our decision alone to make, God does not desire to send anyone to hell. We send ourselves there if we reject Jesus Christ as our Savior. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (NASB). The first step to becoming whole is to surrender to Jesus.

The soul is the second part of our being, and it includes the mind and the emotions. Oftentimes the physical body is sick because the soul needs healing. The ungodliness of today’s society, the selfishness of others, and even our own bad decisions cause great injury to this part of our being. God shares His desire for us in Jeremiah 30:17: “For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds.” Emotional wounds and physical healing go hand in hand with one another. By God’s grace we can learn how to forgive, let go of the past, move forward, and allow the soul to heal.

The third part of our being is the physical body. This is the part that we see every day; it houses our spirit and soul, and God appoints it a time to be born and a time to die (see Eccles. 3:2). But even though it is temporal, Jesus received severe whippings so that it too can be healed and made whole (see Isa. 53:4-5).

God cares about the whole person–spirit, soul, and body. So much so that He records a prayer for its well-being in Third John 1:2: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

Let’s pray.

Dear Father God,

I thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus to heal me in spirit, soul, and in physical body. I believe and receive the healing power of the blood of Jesus to flow through my spirit, to forgive my sins, and to give me eternal life. I thank You for this same healing power to flow through my every cell, tissue, organ, and system to cleanse, heal, and strengthen my physical body. And I am grateful for Your love and compassion to touch and heal my mind and emotions, especially during these turbulent times on the earth.

In Your precious name I pray, amen.

Our Christian Identity

Many Christians today walk this earth without the revelation of who they are in Christ. The adversary, the devil, breaks into the depths of their souls and commits a serious crime: spiritual identity theft. Without the truth about their spiritual identity, they become poor in spirit, powerless to the wiles of the enemy and subject to a suppressed lifestyle because without their proper identity they are unable to activate their God-given authority.

A ploy of the enemy is to project an inferior image of Christians to the world. He portrays us as bumbling, idiotic fools who are spineless in our convictions. But let us not believe this lie, we are Christians, meaning we are Christlike.

Because we do not understand who we are, we also do not value what we have. This is part of the enemy’s plan of deception, to misconstrue our identity and, therefore, the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit is never enforced. As a result, we live like paupers in the kingdom of God. We render the blood of Jesus, our sacrificial lamb, powerless and dishonor the name of the King of kings.

When we say to others that we are Christians, we are not talking about a religious status but our identification with Jesus Christ. It is a confession that we have made a choice to follow after His ways.

Because the darkness of our sin was exposed and overtaken by His light, we no longer carry the heavy chains of bondage to sin, nor do we bear the consequences of sin. The image of the sinner upon us has been erased. No more does He call us sinners, but the redeemed. (See Colossians 1:13, Ephesians 1:17, and Isaiah 62:12.)

As ambassadors of Jesus Christ, we have been given His image, His authority, His rich robes of righteousness, a crown of glory and His power to rule as a royal priesthood. (See 2 Corinthians 5:20, Genesis 1:26-28, Luke 10:19, Zechariah 3:4, Psalm 8:5, and 1Peter 2:9.)

We wear a clean turban and have the mind of Christ; our carnal minds have been exchanged for His and He gives freely to us the wisdom that we need for every situation. (See Zechariah 3:5, 1Corinthians 2:16, and James 1:5.)

We have access to unlimited supernatural resources to meet all our needs; in Him there is no lack. (See Philippians 4;19 and Psalm 34:9.)

No matter what the situation may look like, we are not defeated, but we are more than conquerors. (See Romans 8:37.)

Regardless of the image that satan has falsely projected to the world concerning us, we will not be bamboozled with this wrong imagery. We are not inept, unwise or spiritless people, but we are clothed with Christ, and we are not ashamed to be called Christians!

Dear Father God,

I come to Your throne of grace, and I ask for Your forgiveness for walking in lies concerning my identity in Christ. I repent of weak faith in this area. Teach me, Holy Spirit, who I really am in Christ and help me to walk boldly in the power of Your might throughout this whole earth.

In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
