Are you timid when it comes to asking God for something you need or want? Does the Lord want you to be shy with Him? Or should you come to Him with boldness?
I remember I asked one of our new girls in our children’s home what she would like for Christmas. She quietly whispered, “A little bag of chips.” I said, “No, I’m not going to give you a snack size bag of chips for Christmas.” She didn’t know how to respond, so I asked her if she would like a toy, or a doll. She lit up on the inside, which turned to a big smile on the outside when she heard me suggest a doll. And said, “Yes, I want a doll!” Needless to say, you know what she is getting for Christmas.
But this got me to thinking about how and why we respond to our Lord sometimes. Just like Estefani and I were walking hand in hand, just talking together. God wants to do the same with us. Yes, He wants to take you by the hand, and walk with you, talk with you, and just be with you.
And I can just envision Jesus saying to us, “Say, you know what? We are about to celebrate Christmas; the day you remember My birth. And I want to do something real special. I want to bless you. What would you like to have?”
And many of God’s people act like shy, little Estefani and do not know how to come boldly before His throne of grace and make their petitions known. Hebrews 4:16, sends out the following invitation to us, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” And Philippians 4:6 also says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”
Don’t be afraid to ask God for what you have need of, or for the desires of your heart. He wants to bless you above and beyond that which you can even possibly think or imagine. See Ephesians 3:20.
Let’s face it, God is a giver. John 3:16 says that God so loved the World that He gave … He loves to give us good gifts, (See James 1:17.), like Salvation, the Holy Spirit, healing, deliverance, wisdom, and provision to name just a few of the most important ones. And He’s asking you, “What can I give you today, that will bless you?”
Maybe you’re even more like little Estefani, and you’ve never had someone demonstrate how much they really care. And you are uncomfortable with the fact that He loves you. God wants to take you by the hand and show you how to trust him, and how to be confident in His goodness towards you. He desires to embolden you with the power of faith, so that you will not hesitate to run directly to His throne of grace anytime you want.
Jesus doesn’t want you to miss out on any of His benefits that He so generously lavishes upon us. He’s the Giver of life, see Genesis 2:7, everlasting life, see John 3:16, and abundant life too, see John 10:10. And He’s asking you, “What can I give you today that will bless you, I mean really bless you?” You see, He desires us to come boldly before His throne of Grace and make our requests known to Him.

In the name of Jesus, I release the power of Holy Spirit over husband and loved ones and that they would believe and receive the gift of salvation for their lives. I pray for inner healing to take place within their minds and emotions and with the help of the Lord they will be made whole for God’s glory.
I renounce a spirit of death, and curse cancer, attacking your husband. I command these cancerous cells to die off at their seed, shrivel and dry up at their roots and be supernaturally eliminated. I align my faith with the Word of the Lord that declares by His stripes he is healed and made whole, all for the glory of the Lord, amen.

Dear Becky, thank you for this special message this morning. It touched my heart as I realised how I was like little Estafani. How she was with you when asked what she would like for Christmas? It brought tears to my eyes. I have become accustomed to the way I view our Lord. Thank you for encouraging me to ask Him for what I really want and see what He does for me! Happy Christmas dear Becky, much love, Kerry Lee 🇦🇺

Hi. This is so important to pray for big & small things to God. I will not go into detail, but last year of Junior high, l would go out in the evening & climb a tree to get above mosquitoes & closer to God. Would pray a special request which should have been impossible for the skinny kid l was. Couple years after high school God opened doors and led me down a miracle path to answer those prayers. Let no one tell you that you can not do something you ask for. GOD WILL OPEN a path. In His timing.
