Today’s post is about warding off attacks by retaliating spirits. You might be wondering, “What is an attack by retaliating spirits” When we step out in faith, the enemy, the devil attacks us for daring to exercise our faith and overcome his wicked schemes against us. These wicked schemes come in many forms. Today, we will focus on attacks by retaliating spirits for stepping out in faith for ministering healing.
Let’s begin with a question from one of my students, Juanita. She writes and asks, “I am diligently trying to do all the things that you taught us to do in class like praying in tongues at least 15 minutes a day, praying for the healing of others, etc. While praying over my little granddaughter, against a sinus infection I was rebuking, binding and casting out – praying for her to be healed, and I also started warring for her entire family because generationally this blood line experiences sinus and ear infections. Therefore, I was warring against generational curses too. My granddaughter got better quickly.
But it seemed like what was attacking her jumped on me. I woke up in the middle of the night and had a very sore throat, and my nose was stopped up. I immediately started to rebuke and speak healing scriptures over myself. It took me two days to get breakthrough, but it is gone. My question though is how could this happen? I know the enemy can hit any time and we are in a spiritual battle. Is that all this was? Did I do something wrong?
Dear Juanita,
You did not do anything wrong; in fact, I am proud of you for putting into practice what I have taught you in class. I believe, spiritually speaking, what you encountered was an attack by a retaliating spirit. The devil does not like it when we activate the authority that Jesus gave to us over satan and all of his wicked works, including sickness and disease (See Luke 10:19.)
Next time you minister healing over someone, I strongly suggest that you do a cleansing prayer over yourself. What do I mean by this? A cleansing prayer is a prayer of faith or a declaration of faith that is verbally spoken to ward off any attacks of retaliation from having an effect against you, such as “I plead the power of the blood of Jesus against any retaliating attacks against me. I release the healing power of His blood to flow through my entire being. My every cell, tissue, organ and systems are cleansed and purified in Jesus’ holy name, amen.”
Keep up the good work of faith, and as you believe and lay hands on the sick they will recover, amen. Just remember, after you finish ministering healing over someone to voice activate a cleansing prayer or declaration against an attack from a retaliating spirit.
