The Difference Between Begging and Believing

In preparing to write about the difference between begging and believing I heard the Lord say the following statement. “Begging and pleading is not pleasing, because it is not believing.” I am a strong believer that when we present a need to our Lord it is to be with thanksgiving on our tongues and never with begging. Why? To answer this question, let’s look at the difference between begging and believing.

The spiritual tone between begging and believing is huge. Begging steams from insecurity, and in this case stems from a lack of confidence. God’s Word teaches us how we are to approach God with a need in Hebrews 4:16, (NKJV) “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” We are to approach God with boldness being confident in His mercy and grace. The biblical meaning of Mercy is the gift of God’s undeserved kindness and compassion. Right here, we see the difference between begging and believing stems from our understanding of the nature and character of our Jesus. He is full of kindness and compassion for us. Where does this kindness and compassion towards us stem from. Other than the very foundation of the nature of Jesus is kindness and compassion, it also stems from His personal experience living on this earth as a human being for a time, “For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning.” Heb. 4:15, (AMPC). Jesus knows how difficult life on this earth can be for us. To repeat myself, begging stems from insecurity, while the foundation of believing God is His mercy and grace towards us.

Here is a personal example from my own life what begging and believing God looks like. As a young mama and believer in Jesus my third baby was wanting to be born earlier his expected due date. And being confronted with all these negative reports, this young mama and believer was on her knees begging and pleading God not to take my baby prematurely. As I grew in my understanding about the very nature of Jesus I found myself in a horrific situation with my 8th child (my 5th adopted son, Marcos who died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) I no longer was begging God for the life of my child, I was activating my confidence in the very nature of my Jesus and commanding that spirit of premature death off of my baby. And I did not stop until not only did he come back to life, but all dead body parts were recreated and functioning for the glory of God. This is the difference between begging and believing.

Dear Holy Spirit,

Hover over each reader of this article, help them to see the revelational truth between begging and believing. Help them to discover Your true nature of mercy and grace, and to become bold and confident before you when they present a need to you with thanksgiving and not begging and pleading on their tongues. Amen.

Good day, mrs Becky, thank you for teaching us once again, thank you Father God for such a gift to the body to equip them.
Becky, I please ask you to stand in faith with us for Anel Steenberg, with two miracle boys and a loving husband, Jaco Steenberg, n very dear friend of mine for more than 22 years. She needs a new liver from heaven s storeroom and we are strong believers in the healing power of God…she just send ot a message on her praying group from hospital that the water inside of her swells allot and she is in alot alot of pain, discomfort, and fighting for her life. They even read your very well written book, “the power of your words” book in hospital and also declare healing scriptures over. She really needs a supernatural touch of God. No dr can fix this. They literally wait for her to die:, but we declare that she will live and not die. She also forgave all people.
Thank you Becky. We need the Anointing that destroys yolks!

In the name of Jesus, I renounce this spirit of death, all sickness and disease attacking Anel. I pray in faith, believing without wavering with doubt and unbelief that Jesus has already released the power of his blood over Anel. By His stripes he has purchased her healing. I stand in faith that Anel’s healing manifests fully, leaving nothing undone. I align my faith with the Word of the Lord that declares she will not die but live and declare the works of the Lord (Ps.118:17). in His most gracious name, I pray, amen.

Hi Becky. Thank you for your inspiring messages. It teaches me so much about how to activate my faith and how to pray correctly. Please can you help me to pray for my son who has autism. Many thanks, Hanita from South Africa.

In the name of Jesus, I renounce this label of autism over son and the demonic power behind it and all the pain and suffering it has caused your son and your family. I speak creative miracles and inner healing into his mind, emotions, body and physical brain and all that has been damaged from negative words, medications, treatments, and misunderstandings, and declare he is healed, and he is made whole in every area of life, and that he is able to look people in the eye, he is able to speak and communicate clearly, reach all developmental milestones and function 100% normal. No more torment, no more raging and violence, no more fear. I pray all for the glory of the Lord, amen.

Dear Becky thank you for your encouragement. I
agree I have been through it and recently am learning to take my authority in Jesus and command
this mountain to move. It’s been a long
struggle with health but I know Jesus gave his all and I need to be out there
taking him to those who do not know him
    God bless. Monique Australia

Blessings to you, Monique in Australia! Yes, take His message to the highways and the byways. Hugs, Becky

  • Thank you Becky for this wonderful teaching. I used to beg and plead God but now give Him thanks for His goodness and mercy over every situation. Sometimes I find myself reverting back to begging mode…”Lord PLEASE do this or PLEASE do that” and Holy Spirit corrects my thinking and I start thanking Him for the healing He has already paid for (and by the way I am seeing MUCH more results from praying from a position of thankfulness and belief in His goodness!) or thanking Him for answered prayer, a good gift or favor of the Lord that is already on the way even if it has not manifested yet! Such an important word Becky! Thank you for sharing this with the saints.

Becky, I had a stroke last October and have been put on medications for high blood pressure. I have no symptoms from the stroke, thank the Lord, but my blood pressure. I’ve tried acting in faith and going off the blood pressure medications and declaring my healing but my blood pressure goes back up and I go back on the medications. I know there is a fear involved in this as I don’t want to have another stroke but letting go from the blood pressure medication completly has been a struggle. The effects it’s having on my body and mind I know are unnecessary and don’t need to be. I feel like I have strong faith. I have been a believer since I was a child. This almost makes me feel like I am letting God down. Prayers and any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Jehovah Rapha, I hold up the shield of faith, and voice-activate the sword of the Spirit (Eph 6) on your behalf, Andrea, for healing from high blood pressure. I believe and trust in His ability (Rom.4:21) an His willingness (Matt.8:3) to heal you from this infirmity. I stand in faith that your blood pressure reads 120/80 for the glory of the Lord, amen.
