The latter days are upon us, and the people are “hangry”. The enemy, satan and his demonic forces, are ramping up their efforts against the human race. The inhabitants of earth are being driven by cultural wars, innocent people are being struck down, and peaceful protests are turning into riots and looting. These events, in addition to mandatory shutdowns, are causing great oppression on the business communities. And this in turn drives up prices for the products being sold on the shelves. Families are becoming impoverished. The health and well-being of people worldwide are being stricken by plagues and pestilence, not to mention the effects this is causing on the emotional and mental health of the people. Extreme weather is releasing great destruction in its pathway.

Life has been devalued, babies are being murdered while in their mother’s wombs, and many are being terminated on the birthing tables. Suicide and assisted suicides are at an all-time high. Innocent people are being sent to jail while convicted criminals are being set free; senseless shootings and killings are taking place; people are angry, full of hate, confused, and hurting. And even worse, multitudes of people are dying before they have the opportunity to fulfill their destinies, and the masses are going to hell in grievous numbers.

The enemy is not leaving one stone unturned. If he sees anything with even the slightest hint of goodness and God, he rages war against it. Why? Because he wants to steal, kill, and destroy (see John 10:10.)

Yet in the midst of all this corruption, the words of the Lord call out to the people in Isaiah 45:22, “Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.” And while God cries out to the lost, He calls out to His people, the Church, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Luke 10:2).

If we don’t go into this harvest field, the people can’t hear the truth about the One True God who saves. And just as it asks in Romans 10:14-15, “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?”

The Spirit of the Lord is calling us the Church to rise up to the occasion in these chaotic times and accept the call in Isaiah 6:8, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Will we, the people of God respond like Prophet Isaiah did? “Here am I! Send me.” Will we gladly be the beautiful feet who preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things? (See Romans 10:15.)

People Are “Hangry for the Lord

No, this is not a typo in the subheading. “Hangry” is the combination of the words hungry and angry, which is the spiritual state of people in the world today. They are spiritually hungry, but without God they are angry and feeding on things that don’t fulfill their spiritual hunger. Only a right relationship with the Bread of Life, Jesus Christ, can fill, fulfill, and satisfy their spiritual hunger.

In John 6:35, Jesus says of Himself, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”

People serve the deceiver, satan. Oftentimes this is out of ignorance, but certainly always out of rebellion. The devil, the father of all lies, churns up people’s emotions with dissatisfaction, evil, hate, strife, unforgiveness, vengeance, murderous thoughts and intentions, selfishness and confusion, and they grieve a loss that they can’t begin to understand—eternal life. They feel condemned, and spiritually speaking they are. They have taken on the devil’s nature and ways and are angry with God and those who profess to believe in Him.

John 8:44 speaks of their spiritual condition and the devil they serve:

You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

The Church Carries the Hope

We have what the world needs—hope. God is calling out to His beloved, you and me, to rise up to the occasion set before us and deliver Hope—Jesus, the Deliverer, Healer, and Savior of the world.

But we can’t accomplish the task in front of us if we continue to doubt our calling to be about our heavenly Father’s business and present the end time harvest of lost souls to Him. We have the hope that they need. If we don’t go and harvest the fields, satan will.

The world needs the Church to be stronger than ever now. The lost can’t afford to be among a body that’s weak in the faith. They need us to be willing and bold to express our faith with our words and actions. They are in desperate need for the perfect love of God to arise within us. They are dying for God’s touch of healing from our hands.

Without understanding, the lost are warring for the peace of God within us, but don’t know how to get it. They are crying out for the joy of the Lord that strengthens us on a day-to-day basis.

God designed us with the same needs that can only be met by being relational with the Father. There is a global epidemic of fatherless individuals who are bound by an orphaned spirit and in need of adoption by the heavenly Father. They are searching for a family that will accept them. Will we bring them into the family of God?
