Be Fully Persuaded About Your Healing

In today’s faithless society you need to work through the doubt and unbelief that people try to force upon you. Like Abraham, you need to be fully persuaded about your healing, and you can be.

First of all, you need to cleanse yourself of all doubt and unbelief regarding whether or not it’s God’s will to heal you. And you can start to do this by renewing your mind with the Word of God about healing. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

When you read and study God’s promises for healing on a consistent basis it will transform doubt and unbelief to trust and belief in God’s Word. Some people will transform quicker than others, but if you will keep at it, and not give up satan’s negative thoughts will lose their control over your mind, and God’s promises will take over.

Secondly, you need to choose what you think about. Look what Philippians 4:8 has to say about this, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” You can choose to dwell on the world’s negative report, or you can choose to meditate upon the goodness of your Lord. Success or failure depends upon the choices you decide to make.

The third point to consider is this, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he”. See Proverbs 23:7. What we think about will eventually make its way into our spiritual hearts or spirits. If you think of yourself as being healed, dwell upon the healing promises as belonging to you, sooner or later you will be healed.

And this is a major key to being fully persuaded about your healing.

Seek and Find Your Healing

In Luke 5: 12-13, we read about a man who was not sure about healing. But he did something that many are not willing to do, he sought out the Healer.

It says, “And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”  Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately the leprosy left him.”

This man had a very contagious disease called, “Leprosy”. Even his identity was wrapped around it, he was known by the others as a leper. Think about this, his name is not recorded in this story for us to remember him by, only the hopeless label, “Leper”. And the public associated him with the characteristics of this dreadful disease. When they saw the leper, negative adjectives passed through their minds concerning him, such as, unclean, contagious, cursed, and deadly to be near.

Even the leper, himself, identifies with these painful labels. Back in these days, whenever someone would pass by, he had to pick up a rock and throw it at the person passing by and call out to the others about himself, “Unclean!” Imagine how hopeless he felt. The Bible clearly teaches us that, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” See Proverbs 23:7. It also tells us in Luke 6:45, For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

This man could see his body being eaten away from leprosy, and he could smell the rotting of the flesh as well. He could feel the utter pain and sting constantly.

I also believe he heard amazing testimonies about people who were being healed by a healer named, “Jesus”. But as long as he received his identity from the fearful reactions of others as they saw him, or from his 5 senses or human reasoning, he would forever remain a leper on this earth. Something radical would have to change for this man to be healed.

He obviously did not know how Jesus felt about all of this. But he did hear of these amazing miracles that were taking place, so when Jesus passed by he called out to Him, “Lord.” To acknowledge Jesus as Lord shows that this man was humble and respectful towards Jesus. Then he asks Him what he has been wanting an answer for, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”

He hears enough about Jesus that He knows that He is able to heal him, but when it comes to His willingness he was unsure. But he does the right thing and seeks out the Healer, and asks Him His will to heal. And because he seeks, he finds the answer, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately the leprosy left him.”

What are you waiting for? If you are unsure about healing, ask Him to reveal Himself as your healer. If you will do this, you will find Him and your healing. Jeremiah 29:13 says,You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” And when you seek the Healer, you find your healing too.

Spiritual Insight to Healing

As a healing evangelist, I receive many interesting emails from people who have questions about healing for themselves, or for those around them. So, I would like to give you a list of spiritual insight that I have acquired over the years. I believe this will help you heal personally, or release His healing power to others.

  1. Faith for healing operates by love, and love alone. Galatians 5:6 tells us that, For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love. Love is the fuel for faith, without it you have nothing, and can’t do anything for His glory, such as healing the sick.
  2. Faith for healing demands action. James 2: 14-17 explains it like this, What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?  If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. In other words, if you believe you will activate your faith by your actions.
  3. God commands all believers in Him in the Great Commission, And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:17-18). Note, this is not just for healing evangelists, but a commandment for all believers in Jesus Christ.
  4. We are not waiting upon God to release His healing power, this healing power has already been given to us. Isaiah 53:4-5, Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. God did His part, now the responsibility to heal and be healed is in our hands.
  5. Faith for healing comes by hearing the Word of God concerning healing. Romans 10:17 says, So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We need to feed our spiritual beings with God’s healing promises.
  6. No matter the sickness or disease, God has given His children authority over it and the source of it. Luke 10:19 assures us with these words, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Vulnerable Prey for satan to Attack

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeing whom he may devour” (1 pet. 5:8).

A lion in the wild will hunt, attack, and devour a vulnerable prey first. It will go after a young, weak, or injured animal or one that has strayed away from the safety of the herd rather than take on a strong, healthy animal.

People Who Are Vulnerable Prey for Satan:

  1. Have walked away from God and His Word.
  2. Lack personal relationship, fellowship with the Lord.
  3. Do not take the time to study God’s Word on a consistent basis.
  4. Carelessly stray away from the body of Christ.
  5. Dabble in the things of this world.
  6. No longer live the Word.

These people have become weak in the faith and are vulnerable to attack. Because such people are vulnerable, they easily lose their healing to satan’s attack. They readily believe his lies that they have not been healed, and as a result, accept the disease back into their bodies.

So, we need to be sober and vigilant and be on the lookout for weaknesses in our spiritual walk that can cause us to become easy prey for our enemy to steal, kill, and destroy us. Be sober and vigilant!

God’s Recreative Power to Heal

I’ve been relaxing at the beach with my family in Guatemala this past week, and enjoying God’s creation of the ocean, the wind and the waves, the sunrise and the sunset. But you know what else gives me joy? God’s power to recreate the human body.

I stand in awe every time I witness the blind see their first sight, the deaf hear their first sound, the mute speak their first word, a paralytic take their first step. It is an awesome sight to behold.

I remember years ago there was conflict within a denominational Church that did not believe in God’s supernatural healing power, but as the ladies discussed the issue amongst themselves about the healing message I was sharing they came to the conclusion that if God can create the human body, then He certainly can recreate it as well.

Another denominational Church was having the same struggle and did not believe God’s healing power was for today, until something happened to one of their congregants.

This young man had been in a car accident and destroyed his knee. He already had thousands and thousands of dollars in reconstructive surgery, but even with years of surgical repair work he still could not stand without his knee giving out on him.

He was scheduled to receive 2 more years of reconstructive surgery with no guarantee of success. But then something wonderful happened to this young man.

He heard the word of the Lord concerning divine healing, he believed stood up in front of the group and requested to have his knee ministered to. I placed my hand upon his knee and released the recreative power of the Holy Spirit to flow into his knee. I looked at the young man and told him to put his faith into action.

He agreed and jumped into the air and landed firmly on the ground. He rejoiced, because for the first time in years his knee did not give in and cause him to fall. He was healed. He then took off running down our long dirt road with no issues.

When he returned to the States he and the others testified to their pastor about this healing and others. The pastor was amazed. And called the other pastors in the same denomination together in his area and shared this amazing testimony of this young man and decided that they had better reexamine what the Bible has to say about healing and miracles.

And when he went to visit his doctor and the surgeon they were just as amazed and said to this young man, “You can call it a miracle if you want, all we know is that you do not need surgery anymore.”

The God, Elohim who had created his knee to begin with is just as capable and willing to heal or recreate his knee as well.

Don’t ever underestimate His recreative power to heal our bodies as well.

The Power of Unity Heals

There is spiritual power released when people join together in unison to accomplish a task. It does not matter whether the purpose is for good or for evil–supernatural power is released, and dreams and visions come to pass, and miracles happen.

Do you remember the historical event recorded in Genesis 11: 1-9 called the “Tower of Babel”? Why were these people able to accomplish the vision of the tower? Because they were in unity, the people were of the same mindset, and they spoke the same language, and they put their faith into action. Even though, the motives of their hearts were wrong, (they wanted to build a name for themselves), they were able to accomplish a great feat. This act was so great that it caught the attention of the Lord, and so the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit went down to see the great city and the great tower they had built.

Now, like I mentioned earlier, the power of unity works both ways. It can accomplish good or evil. Let us focus on the good that it can produce. It says in Matthew 18:18-20, “Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”

There is another historical, yet supernatural event recorded in Joshua 6, where God gives a seemingly ridiculous plan to overtake the City of Jericho. The plan involved the power of unity, faith in action and the spoken word. Joshua and the Israelites did as the Lord commanded them and they supernaturally overpowered Jericho.

I want us to take these historical events and learn from them and put the lessons that they teach us into practice today. More specifically, I desire that we learn how to operate in the power of unity and together fight off our enemy, satan, and build a strong tower of faith in the redemptive work of Christ around our family and friends who are battling against premature death, sickness and disease. This is possible.

In unison we can use the power of our spoken words and intercede on the behalf of our loved ones. We can take our authority over premature death and disease, speak life, healing and recreation into their mortal body. We can pray in the Spirit daily. We can personalize and speak healing Scriptures over them and call forth the healing by the power of the spoken Word of God.

Together, we can take turns and visit them everyday and read God’s Word concerning healing. The Book of Luke is a great place to start. It is filled with supernatural healing and miracles. We can also share exciting healing testimonies to stir their faith and to encourage them that all things are possible, even their healing.

When we band together, our faith will arise as our faith-filled prayers are lifted up to the throne of grace. And as we become unified in the faith for healing we will expect nothing less than a miraculous report of divine healing. Matthew 18:19 confirms this unified plan, “Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven.”

Satan Covets Your Blessings

I had the oddest experience today that got me to thinking about how the enemy covets our blessings. I was shopping in the woman’s department at a local store. I found the perfect skirt, blouse and blazer outfit needed for my next ministry trip to Tanzania.

  • It was the right fabric for the hot and humid weather,
  • It was a great color for me.
  • It was very versatile.
  • It was able to pack well.
  • And it would wash and wear easily.
  • It was one of a kind, not another one like it on the racks.
  • And the price was great.
  • It’s as if God fashioned the outfit for my needs and desires.

I placed the outfit in my cart, and continued shopping. But while I was browsing the racks, I noticed another woman nearby that was getting a little bit too close for comfort. I brushed it off, figuring she was real focused on her shopping and didn’t realize how close she was to me.

I turned aside to check out a blouse, when all of a sudden this woman came up from behind me and pushed me into the clothing rack and stole the dress from my shopping cart and ran off!

In all honesty, I was taken off guard, flustered, and couldn’t get out of that store fast enough. Once back in the car with my kids and good friend that accompanied me I started to detox my spirit and soul from the ugly greed of someone that would do such a thing.

But then I got to thinking about how our enemy, satan comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy us, see John 10:10. And my thoughts went deeper than just his thieving, murderous, and destructive behavior against us, but to the real motives behind his wicked attacks against us.

Let’s look back to the woman at the store today. She didn’t try to steal my purse hanging over my shoulder which possessed the provision, my money to purchase this outfit. She coveted the blessing in my basket, the outfit itself. And so much so, that she did not care how unbecomingly she behaved to get it. She pushed me aside and nabbed it from me.

This is exactly how the enemy behaves, and the true reason behind his behavior. He covets our spiritual attire, God’s glory. He’s jealous of what God has fashioned for us. He sees how God has uniquely designed our ministry attire, and he wants it. And he will stop at nothing to try and swipe it from us.

Christians often look at ministry attire as being a part of the 5 fold ministry, but whether you realize it or not, all of God’s people are called to the ministry of reconciliation, see 2 Corinthians 5:18. And it might just be your blessing of healing that he wants to nab from your basket to try to prevent you from shining hope to the sick and hurting around you. Perhaps, your healing already manifested, but he tries to steal your testimony by putting lying symptoms back on you. Maybe he tries to steal your witness by attacking your marriage.

What blessing is satan trying to rob you of? And more importantly, what can you do about it? Plenty!

  1. Repent of sin, if you need to.
  2. Pray in the perfect will of the Father as you pray in the Spirit.
  3. Declare the power of the blood of Jesus Christ over you and your family.
  4. Put your faith into action, and do what God is calling you to do.

Doing these 4 things alone will help you to recover from the attack of the enemy, and cause your spiritual attire to shine for the advancement of the kingdom of God.

The Starting Point of Your Miracle

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” –Genesis 1:1

In Genesis 1 we read about the beginning of the creation of the earth, for the preparation of the start of the human race. We also learn in the first verse from this book of beginnings the key element to the commencement of any miraculous event; God.

Again, in the New Testament in John 1:1-3, the Scriptures confirm that “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” Jesus is the Word of God personified the Father’s perfect revelation of Himself in the flesh. And He was present and had an active part in the creation of the earth.

Let’s take and apply the light of this truth to our situation today. In order for the creation of our miracle to begin, we need to first activate Jesus Christ, the miracle worker in our life now. Let’s pray.

Dear Jesus,

I believe in Your redemptive power that You gave to me through Your blood at Calvary. I recognize the fact that in the beginning of my miracle I need You. And with faith-filled words, I release your miracle working power in my life, so that my miracle can begin.

In Your name I pray, amen.

Be Strong in the Lord

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints”— Eph. 6:10-18.

The key to this portion of Scripture is in verse 10: “Be strong in the Lord.” How do we become strong in the Lord? By developing our relationship with the Lord—going beyond salvation and becoming His friends. We begin to develop our knowledge in the Word concerning healing. But it’s not enough to just study the Word; we need to put it into action on a daily basis. And lastly, we need to put on the whole armor of God, not just the part that we are comfortable or familiar with. Let’s learn to use them and apply them to every situation.

Gird your waist with truth. Wrap yourself in God’s truth that He is not only able, but that He also wills to heal you, see Luke 5:13.

Breastplate of Righteousness. Oftentimes, God’s people do not feel they are good enough to be healed. And they are right we will never be good enough, but the God’s healing promise is not based upon our behavior, but upon the obedience of Christ who was whipped so that we can be healed in Him, see Isaiah 53:4-5.

Shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. With extreme situations, such as death reports from incurable diseases, our mind and emotions war against the Word of God. And it can be difficult to find peace. The main reason for this is because the peace we need doesn’t come from this world. It’s not found in the emotional realm, but in the manifest presence of God, see John 14:27.

Shield of Faith. When we are in a raging battle for our health, or the health of a loved one we can’t forget about our faith. We’ve all been given a measure of faith to use in everyday life. Faith is not a feeling, it is an actual substance. It is what we stand on when there are no feelings. God created this world by faith, and He created us to be like Him and gave us supernatural weapons to use, such as faith, see Romans 12:3.

Helmet of Salvation.  Salvation is more than eternal life with Jesus, it’s for the here and now as well. This word, “salvation” comes from the Greek word, “sozo”, and includes healing for the spirit, soul, and body. See Acts 2:21.

Sword of the Spirit. This sword is supernatural, and its power is limitless. It’s the Word of God, and it is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart, see Heb. 4:12. And when we speak it out wisely we destroy the works of satan, and release the healing power of the Holy Spirit, see Prov. 18:21.

No matter how long it takes, no matter what others may say, we must persevere and move forward with God and His Word. The enemy’s grip will start to loosen up, and when it does, we must not let our guard down, but remain strong in the Lord, push all the harder and we will win! Then our desired healings will manifest in Jesus’ name.

Being Patient for Healing

It always amazes me how people are willing to wait for an antibiotic to work its healing into the body, but when it comes to the healing line, if they do not see an immediate result they give up and say that this healing stuff just doesn’t work. Let’s talk about the importance of being patient for healing.

James admonishes us when he says, “Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand (James 5:7-8).

As Christians, we need to learn to cultivate this fruit of the Spirit, patience in our lives, and remain patient, being fully persuaded that we will receive our miracles from God. Perhaps, along with the healing, God desires to develop in us a character of strong faith that can endure the test of time.

Consider this example from James about the farmer. He waits patiently for harvest time. But while waiting patiently (not being full of doubt and fear of crop failure), he waters and fertilizes the desired harvest even though he does not see any results in the very beginning. He’s confident that if the conditions are right he will reap a bountiful harvest.

We need to see ourselves as the farmer and our desired harvest is our miracle. Just like this farmer, we need to exercise patience and water and fertilize our seed of faith that has been planted in our hearts with words of hope, expectancy, and thankfulness for His faithfulness to us and our needs. And sometimes we need to be willing to pull a few weeds of doubt and unbelief from the soil of our hearts with repentance so that our desired harvest will not be choked.

Why would patience be important for our healing to manifest? Think about how people respond to situations when they are impatient. They become disappointed, depressed, irritable, and they become very loose with their words. Remember, our words have the power to create or to destroy, see Pr. 18:21. And in this case, words spoken out of impatience are very negative. So, you stunt the growth of your healing when you speak negatively. Which will cause the manifestation of your healing to take longer, or even kill it all together.

Along with speaking words of faith, we need to put our faith into action and plan for and expect to harvest our miracle. We need to use the power of our God-given imagination and allow ourselves to plan what we will do when our miracle manifests.

In the natural, this farmer would not harvest his crop if all he did was talk to the seeds, and neglected to water, weed, and fertilize his garden. It’s the same for us, we must put action behind our words of faith. And quite frankly, if we don’t activate our faith, we don’t believe, and will not reap our healing.

When is the last time you allowed yourself to imagine with God your healing manifested? What would you do? Well, it’s time to imagine yourself healed, speak like you are healed, and act like you are healed.

I guess you could say that miracles can be compared to plants; some take longer to grow and to develop than others. And this is why we need patience, so that we can harvest our healings.
