A Tsunami Wave of Healing

In a vision the Lord showed me on January 7, 2012,  a tsunami wave of supernatural healing hitting the Western world. He said, “No longer will people say, “Why doesn’t divine healing manifest here?”

A wave of divine healing is overtaking the West. Expect to get wet!

But along with this wave will be a strong undertow of unbelief that will try to pull you away. Don’t allow satan the liberty to pull you under. Rise to the top and believe.

This wave is different than before. It won’t be in isolated locations with pockets of people receiving. This wave will manifest in all places and to all people.

Ministers of healing are rising to the top of this wave. Not only will we minister healing, but we also will equip others to ride the wave.

The blind see, the deaf hear, the mute speak, the paralytics walk, incurable disease are healed and the dead rise. Unusual types of miracles are also in this wave–and it has arrived to the Western shores.

Don’t be afraid of this Living Water. It’s what you have been waiting for. This powerful tsunami wave overtakes and heals all who are willing to step in and get wet.

This Word of the Lord can be found in Greater Than Magic, Chapter 15, page 164.

Commissioned to Heal

I was walking down the street and a woman from the Church stopped to ask me if God would heal and unbeliever too. I answered, “Yes!” Let’s look to the Scriptures for proof.

When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them. And demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!” Luke 4:40-41.

It says that Jesus laid hand on every one of them, and healed them—not just those that professed to believe in Jesus, but every one of them!

I have visited numerous hospitals filled with sick and dying people. As I went from bed to bed praying for the patients, I never denied healing from people because they didn’t profess Jesus. In fact, I have seen the compassion of the God move very powerfully over the lost, and after they receive their healing, they have been ready to confess their sins and receive Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

One time, after ministering to the sick in Malawi, the pastors traveling with us were saying to each other, “She even asks the Muslims to renounce Mohammed!” As Christians, we should desire that people receive salvation as well as healing for their physical bodies. Healing is a tool that the Holy Spirit uses to prove the realness of Jesus to the Lost. This is how Jesus evangelized and the instructions He gave to us before He ascended into Heaven.

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16: 15-18.

My husband and I were walking down a nature trail with some friends along the Cahabon River in Champuey National Park, in Guatemala. We happened to stop and chat with a man that had been hired to guard and tend the trail. He shared with us about a terrible accident that he had had while swinging on a rope into the river. His hands slipped off the rope before he swung out into the water, and he came crashing down upon the large rocks below him. He was seriously injured. He broke his leg in several places, and it did not heal correctly. As he was telling us his story, I heard the voice of the Lord say to me, “Pray for him.”

After he finished telling us about the accident, I asked him if we could pray for him for healing. He agreed, and we laid our hands on him to release the healing power of the Holy Spirit into his body. I told him to put his faith into action and do something he was not able to do before. He began to put his weight on his leg and squatted down low to the ground with no pain. His strength and mobility returned. With tears in his eyes he thanked the Lord for his healing and agreed to receive Jesus Christ as his Savior.

Our Identity and Authority in Christ

If God created the world to be so good and perfect, then why is it imperfect today? Let’s look to the Book of Genesis to find out just what went wrong. Most of us have heard about the fall of humanity, when Eve was tempted by the serpent (satan) to eat the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil (see Gen. 3). She ate the fruit and gave it to Adam, and he ate of it too. Let’s look closer at what really happened here. This account in Scripture is more than just disobeying Daddy’s rules and stealing apples!

I find it interesting that the serpent of old cowardly avoided the governor, Adam, and went instead to the vise-governor, the helper, Eve, in order to set in motion his plan of deception. Let’s observe what the serpent (satan) said to Eve and find out why he tempted her.

Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil” (Genesis 3:4-5).

Satan lied to Eve when he said that she would be like God. He was playing with her identity by twisting words. She was already like God. She was created in the mirror image of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, (see Gen. 1: 26-28). But satan was deceiving her into thinking that the knowledge of evil was something to be desired. However, he didn’t tell her the end result. I wonder why? She knew what good was, but she did not know evil. As she meditated on what he had said to her, she convinced herself that it would be satisfying to her body and that it would make her wise. She ate of the forbidden fruit and gave it to Adam. Adam could have refused to eat the forbidden fruit, but he didn’t. He was just as guilty as Eve (see Gen.2).

If we want to breakthrough in healing, we need to understand the answers to some important questions. Why did satan tempt Adam and Eve? Why does he bother tempting us today? Who exactly is satan? And what does all of this have to do with being redeemed from the curse of sickness and disease? We need to know more than just the fact that we are redeemed from the curse. We need a deeper understanding of where the curse originated. When we understand who is behind the curse and what the curse really is, it will be easier for us to receive divine healing into our physical bodies.

Who is satan?

Scripture talks about the fall of Lucifer. He was a beautiful angel that God created. Be he deceived himself and became full of pride because of his beauty, and he thought he was greater than God. He even deceived a third of the angels to believe his deceitful lie and convinced them to rebel against God with him. Scripture says that he fell from Heaven (see Isa. 14:12), but before he fell, it says that he was the anointed cherub who covered and that he was in Eden, the Garden of God, as well as on God’s holy mountain (see Ezek. 28: 13-15). But lucifer was evicted from these places and, more importantly, from God’s presence, and his name was changed to satan (the devil). The angels who fell with him are now called demonic spirits. And God has a place prepared for them called hell, the worst part of which is separation from God, Himself. His foolish pride cost him everything; he lost it all (see Isa. 14:12-21; Ezek. 28: 12-19; Rev. 12: 4, 9; 20:10).

Why Did Satan Go after Adam and Eve?

He was jealous over what he had lost, and he was even more envious of these beings who were created in the mirror image of God. Before lucifer fell, he was created as a beautiful angel (see Ezek. 28:12-19), but he had not been created in the mirror of God. The first man, Adam, was so special. He was so different from the rest of creation. Not only was he created in the mirror image of God, but he was created to have authority and dominion over all things on this Earth (see Ps. 8:6), and that included satan. Satan wanted Adam’s authority and dominion on this Earth, and that’s why he tempted Adam and Even in the Garden of Eden. And as soon as they ate of that forbidden fruit they handed over their authority and dominion on this Earth to satan. That’s what he coveted and pursued, and that’s how he got it (see Luke 4:6).

Why Does Satan Go After Us Today?

He is venomously envious of us because he knows that we are created in the mirror image of God. He knows that we, as believers in Jesus Christ, have been given back that authority and dominion on this Earth that he stole from Adam and Eve back in the Garden of Eden. When Jesus Christ took our place at Calvary, He restored humanity’s original authority on the Earth.

For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet (Psalm 8:5-6).

In Psalm 8:5, the Hebrew word translated in some versions as angels is Elohim. Elohim is a Hebrew name for God. There is a big difference between angels and God. Let’s read from another translations of Psalm 8:5-6.

Yet You have made him a little lower than God, and You crown him with glory and majesty!
You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet (NASB).

In Psalm 8, the angels are conversing with God concerning humanity and the position that people have been given by God in the realm of all of His creation. I believe Psalm 8:5-6 is a confirmation of Genesis 1:26-28—that God created people in His mirror image and gave them authority and dominion over all things on the Earth.

In searching the word Elohim, I have found several definitions. Elohim is plural and could be referring to God (God the Father; God the Son, Jesus Christ; and God the Holy Spirit), gods, angels, or heavenly beings. I believe, in this portion of Scripture, Elohim is referring to God the Father; God the Son, Jesus Christ; and God the Holy Spirit.

As Christians, we agree that we have not been made a little lower than false gods. But, what about the possibility that people were created a little lower than angels or heavenly beings? If we were created a little lower than angels or heavenly beings, then satan would have authority over us because satan (lucifer) is a fallen angel. And that would not line up with the Scripture in the New Testament that says we have been given authority over satan and all of his wicked works, including sickness and disease, (see Luke 10:19). I personally refuse to be beneath satan!

Our true identity is probably the most important truth that satan tries to conceal from us because he knows that once we start to unveil the truth about who we really are in Christ and who Christ is in us, we become lethal to satan and his kingdom of darkness. Once we start to recognize who we are in Christ, we start to seize our authority over satan, the temptation of sin, and the consequences of living in a fallen world, such as sickness, disease, and every other foul curse that comes our way. In other words we start to dominate satan and his evil works, instead of him dominating us. It is amazing that he can identify those who start to comprehend their identity and operate in their authority in Christ.

I remember traveling to the Maasailand in Northern Tanzania for the first time. Before an evening evangelistic campaign, a demon-possessed man that I had never seen before ran up to me and knelt before me. The demons within him started to cry out to me in English (for I did not understand the Maasai language), “Why have you come to torment us?” I was astounded. How can they perceive when we know who we are in Christ? I believe it is partly by watching how we start to speak and act. And there is also an actual unveiling of the glory of God that takes place in the spirit realm that they identify and that requires them to yield to and admit defeat.

It is of utmost importance during these last days, that we recognize who we are in Christ and activate the authority given to us over satan and all of his wicked works.

What Does God Say About Himself and Healing?

When I was a young girl I grew up in a denominational Church, I was baptized as an infant, confirmed in my teenage years, and yet I had no understanding of what Jesus Christ really did for me. I did  not know that Church attendance was not enough, but that I needed to be born-again. And I certainly did not have any teaching about the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ to heal the sick.

I believe the main reason Christian people are sick and dying prematurely is that the Church on a whole has taken the healing message and shoved it in a closet and locked the door. It is time to unlock the door and allow people to hear the Good News about supernatural healing, so they can have a foundation of faith to stand on to believe for healing. The Bible says that faith comes by hearing, and by hearing the word of God, see Rom. 10:17.

The next time someone tries to tell you that God no longer heals, don’t listen. Instead, read God’s Word and find out what He has to say about the matter. Here are some Scriptures to help you get started on your healing journey.

The Father says about Himself:

“I am the Lord who heals you.” Exod. 15:26.

“For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds’.” Jer. 30:17.

“Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.” Jer. 33:6.

“I am the Lord, I do not change.” Mal. 3:6.

Concerning Healing for His children the Lord says:

Healing is His children’s bread. Mark 7:27.

Here are just a few things He says concerning Jesus and healing.

“Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole. Isa. 53:4-5.

“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.” Gal. 3:13.

“His body was broken for your healing.” 1 Cor. 11:24.

Jesus shed His blood 7 times for our redemption, including healing. Luke 22:41-44, Isa. 50:6, Isa. 53:4-5,Matt. 27: 27-31, John 19: 17-37.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Heb. 13:8.

Jesus says of Himself about healing:

“I am willing; be cleansed.” Luke 5: 13.

“I came to give you life, and life in abundance.” John 10:10.

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19.

“With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” Mark 10:27.

Where does sickness come from?

The thief, satan, comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy. John 10:10.

He says of the Holy Spirit concerning us:

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” Rom. 8:11.

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.” Acts 1:8.

He gives us wisdom on how to overcome:

“Seek the Lord and live.” Am. 5:6.

Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts” Zech. 4:6.

“Faith operates by love.” Gal. 5:6

“The joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold.” Neh. 8:10.

“A joyful heart is good medicine.” Prov. 17:22

“If you believe… you will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.” Mark 16:18.

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” James 5:14.

You have the power of life and death in your tongue. Prov. 18:21.

Hold fast the confession of your hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Heb. 10:23.

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Rom. 10:17.

And gives us encouragement for difficult times if we choose to believe:

The Lord will sustain, refresh, and strengthen you when you get sick. Ps. 41:3.

You will not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. Ps. 118:17.

The Lord will preserve you and keep you alive. Ps. 41:2.

He will satisfy you with long life. Ps. 91:16.

You will not miscarry or be barren, but fulfill the number of your days. Exod. 23:26.

He will bless your bread and your water, and will remove sickness from your midst. Ps. 91:16.

He will give you strength and peace. Ps. 29:11.

No evil or plague shall come near your dwelling. Ps. 91:10.

No weapon formed against you will prosper. Isa. 54:17.

A prayer recorded in the Bible for you:

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. ” 3 John 1:2

Sharing Jesus

It was never the intent of the Lord for us to sit idly hidden behind four walls. He created us to have an interactive relationship with Him, to worship Him in Spirit and in truth. To be about our heavenly Father’s business, to go out into all the world (not to be conformed to this world, but to transform it; to allow the creative power of His Spirit to manifest miracles through us), and to be wise and lead others to Him. (See John 4:23-24; Luke 2:49; Romans 12:2; Mark 16:15-18 and Proverbs 11:30.)

The Word says we are to raise the spiritual foundations and reestablish the pathway for our future generations. One of these foundations is the supernatural power of faith. The next generations need to be taught how to inhabit this spiritual realm of the Holy Spirit.

It is sad to say that, because of religion, scores of people today are turned off and embittered toward the Church. Many parents no longer teach their children about Jesus. Our future generations are ignorant concerning the most important part of life, Jesus Christ. About 15 years ago, my mom was stunned by a little boy’s question during VBS, “Who is Jesus?” Regrettably, countless numbers of people, both the young and the old, do not understand the answer to this all-important question.

While I sat on a plane from Guatemala to Minneapolis, a young lady next to me, after she learned that I was a Christian author, inquired of me about my beliefs in God and my personal opinions concerning current issues. This woman was raised in a Christian home and lost her father to a terminal illness at a young age, but had a mother who faithfully held the family together during the difficult years that followed. This young woman attended a Christian college, but she did not know the Lord. She was currently angry at the Church for the stance it took against current social issues, such as homosexuality and wanted to know what I taught my children concerning the tolerance movement. I shared openly and honestly my deep Christian faith, but I kept the doors of communication wide open for further discussion. I shared with her the following testimony about the effects of the tolerance movement that I have witnessed.

One time as I walked into a hospital for the terminally ill in Guatemala, I was asked to pray for a dying man and his family. As I sat down next to the person, I couldn’t help but note the spiritual confusion of the institution where this man was dying. In an attempt to be tolerant of different religions, this institution hung a collage of different religious figures on the walls and displayed various religious statures and trinkets. This hodgepodge of conflicting religions caused an uncertainty concerning faith and sent forth a subliminal message that they themselves did not know what to believe and that they lacked faith. This atmosphere of doubt left this family in a state of despair. They lacked the security and support to believe for a miracle, they had no hope and, without hope, they had no faith. The tolerance movement produces doubt, unbelief and insecurity.

This young woman made another comment to me. She said, “This prayer stuff doesn’t work for me.” I replied, “No, it won’t work if you don’t believe. Prayer is communication with God and you cannot have intimate fellowship with someone you do not know. It is like talking to a spouse you do not have.”

She went on to explain to me that her generations is more knowledgeable and accepting of different religions because they are taught to do so in public school and, as a result, she felt they were better than the previous generation. I explained to her that I am not religious and that religion is dead. She was a little taken back by my response. But I continued to explain to her that I believe in having relationship with Jesus Christ.

With tear-filled eyes, she continued to challenge me with deep questions about the Lord. Even though her remarks spilled over with unbelief, I would not allow her doubt to dictate my responses. I shared with her many testimonies filled with supernatural healings and miracles. She had never encountered a believer in Jesus who actually walked in miracles before. She started to see God in a whole new light. The bitterness she harbored toward the Church and Christians lessened. As we stepped off of the plane, we hugged and she said to me with a tender tone in her voice, “You have given me many things to think about.”

Dear heavenly Father,

We ask You to forgive us for being religious in our spiritual walk, for being callused in our hearts toward You, for being filled with the things of this world but empty in our spirits and void of hope for others. Help us to be living testimonies for Your glory, which draw and woo people to You. May we take serious our call to be witnesses to the lost, to be tools in Your hands to repair the breach and to mend the violations of mistrust that we have caused in others. May we be Christians who act out what we say we believe and walk in the miraculous so that the world may know You are the one, true God.

In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

The Power of Forgiveness to Heal

People suffer spiritually, emotionally, and physically from a lack of knowledge. A deficiency of knowledge, especially in God’s Word, is destructive. God says through His prophet in Hosea 4:6a, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” He goes on to say that His people even reject it. They are unaware that everything that manifests in the physical world is an irrefutable result of spiritual occurrences around them. When it comes to partaking of the Word of God, many are malnourished. They do not have the substance to live victoriously. This insufficiency of the supernatural power of God causes great damage to the Body of Christ. It hinders God’s miraculous intervention to reach His people. God wants us to understand His supernatural ways. And according to John 16:13 in the Amplified Version of the Bible, He sends His Truth-giving Spirit to guide us into all truth, including the revelation knowledge of the supernatural. Jesus shares the power source of this truth in John 8:31-32. He says, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

A woman in Los Angeles, CA was so bound from arthritis that she could not walk, stand, sit, or lie down without non-stop intense pain. There was no doctor, medicine, treatment, or therapy that could relieve her from this pain. This woman lived a life of misery, and lost her will to live.

The message of this particular healing service was about the power of forgiveness. And the truth of the Word that she heard me speak witnessed on the inside of her. Her friends carried her to the altar. When I saw her I asked her if she was ready to forgive the person that had hurt her. She said yes, she was ready.

She prayed, “Father God, forgive me for not dealing with my anger properly, and allowing it to turn into bitterness. I forgive my husband for his unfaithfulness, and I release him from my vengeance. And in doing so, I am free from the sin of bitterness and the physical effects it has on my body, and I can now boldly stand before Your throne of grace and make my petition for healing made known. I am free to receive Your healing power in me, in Jesus’ name I pray, amen.”

Instantly, she was released from the hideous results of bitterness, and her body was healed and made whole. In that moment as she stood before His throne of grace, her body straightened out, all the pain and swelling were gone, and her strength was returned.

She looked up at me and said, “The message is true, and I am free!”

The truth that this woman needed to hear was that of forgiveness. It was the key to unlock her healing and deliverance from arthritis that was destroying her body from the inside to the outside.

The Word of God says that bitterness dries up the bones, (see Prov. 17:22.)

What’s inside the bones? Marrow. What is bone marrow? According to Medical News Today, “Bone marrow is soft, gelatinous tissue that fills the medullary cavities – the centers of bones. There are two types of bone marrow: red bone marrow (also known as myeloid tissue) and yellow bone marrow (fatty tissue).

Both types of bone marrow are highly vascular and enriched with numerous blood vessels and capillaries.

The bone marrow makes more than 200 billion new blood cells every day. Most blood cells in the body develop from cells in the bone marrow. 1

In simpler terms, marrow is a gelatin like fluid, and it produces red and yellow bone marrow. The red bone marrow helps your body produce blood, by making red blood cells. What’s in the blood? Life is in the blood.

The Bible tells us that bitterness dries up the bones. It zaps the very life out of a person. I have seen in healing line after healing line when people suffering from arthritis will forgive those that have done them wrong, and release them from their bitterness that they are most often instantly healed and made whole.

This is no coincidence, the Word of God is truth, and it clearly says concerning forgiveness.

  • A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.” Prov. 17:22.
  • “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matt. 6:14-15.
  • “Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” Eph. 4:31-32.
  • “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Heb.4:15-16.

Steps to Forgiveness

  1. Make a quality decision today to forgive by faith.
  2. Repent from bitterness.
  3. Release the person that hurt you from your vengeance.
  4. And stand boldly before the throne of grace and ask the Father for what you have need of in Jesus’ name.

The Powerful Secret to Heal the Sick

I know that the thought of ministering healing in the name of Jesus can be rather intimidating for some, but we need to remember that we do not go alone. The Holy Spirit, who lives and resides inside of every believer in Jesus Christ, is the one working in and through us. Let me share a personal testimony of what happened the first time I ministered healing to someone.

Back in 1991, in Guatemala City, on a short-term mission trip our team was going door-to-door sharing about Jesus and inviting the people to come to an evangelistic campaign that we were holding in their neighborhood. At one home the people already were believers in Christ, so I asked them if there was anything that I could pray with them about. They said “Yes” and asked us to wait. The interpreter and I sat down in their one room home and waited. Soon afterward they returned with a little girl who had been deaf since birth and could not speak.

I did not know much about healing back then, but I laid my hands on her anyway, and I rebuked a spirit of deafness and commanded her ears to be opened, and immediately she could hear, and speak. Her first word was, “Hallelujah!”

I share this testimony because sometimes we think we can’t minister healing to someone because we do not know enough about healing. But here is a powerful secret. If we know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, then we have what it takes to minister to the sick. His name is Jehova-rapha, the Lord who heals us, (see Exod. 15:26). And in 1 John 4:17, we are encouraged with a life-changing truth about our identity, “as He is, so are we in this world.” And as His ambassadors, (see 2 Cor. 5:20) we are commissioned to go and evangelize the world with power, and if we believe we will lay hands on the sick and they will recover, (see Mark 16:15-18). Go ahead, take a bold step of faith and minister healing to those around you. You’ve got what it takes!

Faith Hears

Faith hears into the realm of the supernatural. A well-trained spiritual ear will hear and know the voice of the Lord. Jesus says in John 10:27, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” Notice He says that His sheep, not the lambs, hear His voice and follow Him.

What is the difference between sheep and lambs? Maturity. And it is mature faith that hears and recognizes the voice of the Shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord, and will follow Him.

Spiritually speaking, maturity doesn’t necessarily come with time or age. There are many in Christ that have been redeemed for many years, but yet they can only handle the milk and not the meat of the Word. They have to be bottle-fed, and are unable or unwilling to feed their own faith. Why? Carnality. Unless we die to our sinful nature and selfish desires we cannot develop spiritually, and our spiritual senses, such as our ability to hear His voice, are stunted.

There are several ways that we hear the Lord speak to us.

  1. Through His Word.
  2. Through the inner voice.
  3. Through an audible voice.

When we move out of religious duty and into actual relationship with the Lord, He will communicate with us while we fellowship with Him in His Word. It says in Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

The inner voice is another way the Spirit speaks with us and is found in Isaiah 30:21: “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand
or whenever you turn to the left.” This is one of the more common ways that He speaks to us.

I was traveling with a friend on a train in a foreign country and as we were chatting I heard the Lord say to me through the inner voice, “The man sitting across from you is following you.” My friend was unaware what the Lord has just spoken to me. As she continued to speak, I looked up and sure enough this man had been following us.

He also will speak to us at times with an audible voice as He spoke to Moses I the burning bush (see Exod. 3:4). On different occasions the Lord awakens me from my sleep by audibly whispering my name, “Becky.” I can physically feel the breath of His voice in my ear, giving me clear instruction on what I am to do at that moment or revealing to me in the supernatural realm things that are taking place.

In 1 Samuel 3 we read about a young boy named Samuel who ca hear a voice calling out to him, but he does not recognize the voice speaking to him. It takes the maturity of Eli to teach him who is calling out to him and how to respond to the voice of the Lord.

It is of utmost importance that we train our spiritual ears to hear and recognize the voice of the Lord. To do so we must know the Word of God. The more we know the Word, the more we understand Him and His ways and we can protect ourselves from voice that would mislead us. The Lord will never compromise His Word. This is important when we learn to recognize His voice. Jesus says in Matthew 13:9, “He who has ears to her, let him hear!”

There are three sources of voice that could possibly speak to our spiritual ears.

  1. The voice of God
  2. The voice of satan
  3. The voice of human reasoning

The voice of God is always honorable and faithful to the Word of God. It releases freedom to the hearer and never compromises the Word. In Hebrews 4:12 it says, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” In John 8:32 Jesus says, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The voice of satan is deceiving; it twists the Word of God just enough to make it sound appealing and accepting to the human flesh. In John 8:44b Jesus says concerning satan, “He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”

The voice of our human reasoning is based upon our five senses and our emotions and is limited to human intellect. It says in Proverbs 28:26a, “He who trusts in his own heart is a fool.”

A mature spiritual ear hears and knows the voice of our Lord; it protects us from misguiding voices and is trained to follow after the will of the Spirit of God in all situations.

A Time of Grace

This Word from the Lord was given to me on October 5, 2010 for the body of Christ and is included in my recent book, “Greater Than Magic” on pages 165 – 167.

“You are entering into a time of grace that you have not known before. My grace will be very strong upon you.

“The earth is shaking, it is quaking, it has been deeply moaning the evil that fills this place, but My children will increase in the power of My grace. My grace is all-sufficient for the challenges My children face. The end is near. It is nearer than you realize. Embrace the strength of My grace.

“Things will not be like before; they will be different in every form. But My victories will be greater than you’ve experienced before.

“The political arena is very unstable and soon to collapse. Many will fear, but know that I am drawing near.

“The economy as the world knows is crumbling from beneath them. Many will take their lives for fear of failure. That is a life controlled by the spirit of mammon.

“Wickedness is becoming wickeder than you have seen before. Right will become wrong and wrong will become right in the eyes of the unregenerated soul. It will be worse than in the days of Noah. Perversion will be worse than it has ever been. What was once inconceivable to the average person will become acceptable and normal. My word prophesies these things; they cannot be stopped.

“But in the midst of great filth is a safe haven for My beloved Bride. In My presence she will find refreshing for her weary soul. Deep in My presence she will hide and ride in safety in the midst of a terrible and frightful storm. Even though the waves of this storm will crush and destroy, My Bride will outride the storm,

“Understanding of My Word will continue to increase; things will become clearer and clearer as the time draws nearer.

“My Bride needs to press into My Holy presence. She needs to be cloaked in My grace. She will need to pick up her pace in order to complete her race as she will soon look upon My face and she will be dressed in a bride’s fine, white lace.

“The tables are set. Everything is in its place. The white linens are laid and the banquet feast has been prepared. Invite everyone who will come to join us for the finest banquet that has ever been served. The bread and the wine have already been given. There are still yet invitations that have no reply; many have not been sent yet. Invite the people to come and feast with Me.

“Time as you know it will change. The clock is winding down on this phase of time. And the new millennium is being ushered in. Eternity as you speak of is at hand.

“Grace is the word for this hour, and its power you will receive as you gaze upon My face. An occasional glance will not receive; it’s the fixed position that sets its release.

“Bitter is the wine of religion, but sweet to the taste is the wine of My fellowship. I came to restore the sweet flavor of My wine. Now it’s time to take and taste My wine and dine with Me and My Father. My Spirit is calling; the invitation is in the wind. And this wind is blowing to all corners of the earth, refreshing those who will take My cup and sip of the eternal sweetness of My wine.”

Praying Mysteries

Many years ago, while washing the breakfast dishes I was praying in tongues. I’m not sure how long I had been praying in the Spirit, I only know that I found myself leaning against the kitchen wall and I heard myself say aloud to the Lord, “An orphanage?”

Oftentimes, when we speak in tongues we pray into existence things that are hidden from our natural understanding.  As it says in 1 Corinthians 14:2, “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.” This word mysteries (Strong’s G3466 – mystērion) means hidden thing, secret or mystery.

In regards to the opening testimony, the Spirit of God was revealing His plans for my husband and I that neither of us knew about.  He was about to send us to Guatemala as full-time missionaries, and one of His assignments for us was to start an orphanage.

I fully believe that the Lord desires us to know His plans and purposes for us, and speaking in tongues reveals His will to us and prays them into existence.

Also, as we surrender our human tongues to the Holy Spirit He discloses secrets that are necessary to know in order to minister to people effectively.

Case in point, I was ministering to a couple in another country. The woman was a follower of Jesus Christ and was believing for a miracle for her husband who had lost his mind. And no one could figure out why.

As I began to speak in my heavenly language, the Holy Spirit gave me the following vision and exposed the strong hold. I saw a row of empty clothes hangers hanging from a poll. I then saw a communist ring on his finger. I told them what I saw and asked if it witnessed with them. It did.

They were unequally yoked, she was a believer in Christ, and actively involved in the things of the Lord, and he was a communist. But when their situation was discovered they lost their dry cleaning business. And the financial pressure was more than he could bear and he lost his mind.

In the natural I had no way of knowing about this situation, but by this supernatural gift of communication (tongues) with the Holy Spirit the secret stronghold was exposed, and the steps to his healing were known; he was to renounce communism and give his life to Christ.

The gift of tongues is so powerful, and it’s an entrance that leads to the other gifts of the Holy Spirit. I pray you receive this gift today.
