A Prayer of Safety from Our Enemies

Allow me to stir up the gift that is within you, the prophetic healing power of your words. Being fully aware that every word we speak is either building up or it is tearing down something or someone. And in this prayer of safety from our enemies, we are going to create an atmosphere with words of faith and decree a separation between their evil and ourselves. Let’s begin to create this wall of protection around ourselves and our loved ones in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, the Messiah, the anointed One, the Christ.

In the name of my Lord, my God, in whom I trust, I declare the word of the Lord from Psalm 91 and begin to construct a high tower for us to take shelter within, as we abide in His shadow. I begin with the foundation, the power of the blood of Christ. I plead all this power, and I renounce the wicked attacks of our main enemy, satan, that serpent of old, and those that operate in his ways against us.

Holy Spirit, open our spiritual eyes to see the traps that our enemies have laid out to ensnare us with their lies and cunning ways of the anti-Christ. Spirit of the Living-God, continue to lead us and guide us into all truth. May we be on the alert and recognize the roaring lion who seeks to devour us. (See 1 Peter 5:8.) And may we catch him and bring him down instead of him trampling upon us. May we learn to properly wield all the authority given to us by Christ, Himself (See LK. 10:19.) to trample upon all serpents and scorpions. And may we behead every serpent and destroy all the painful stings of the scorpions around us. You create us to lead and not to trail behind. And as Your kings and priests upon this earth, (See REV. 5:10.) we take up our rightful positions in Your kingdom, the kingdom of God and we lead your people into peace and safety.

We continue to declare Your power to deliver us from the deadly pestilence that has and is being released from hell’s dungeon. We proclaim words full of faith that, “No weapon formed against us shall prosper, and we condemn every lying tongue set on fire against us.” (See IS. 54:17.) We choose this day Whom we will serve, and as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.” (See JOSH. 24:15.) No matter where this leads us, we will keep our eyes fixed upon the face of our Lord, (see HEB. 12:2) and finish the race set before us. We will not grow faint, (See IS. 40:31.) or allow our efforts to fizzle, but we will stay on the straight and narrow path, (See Matt. 7: 13-14.) And we will cling to these truths found in God’s Word, “We are more than conquerors”, (See ROM. 8:37.) “And we overcome and conquer him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of our testimony, for we do not love our life and renounce our faith even when faced with death. (See REV. 12:11, AMP.)

*Declare this prayer of safety from our enemies every day in the name of our Lord, Messiah, Jesus, the Anointed One over you and your loved ones, starting now.

I Am Not a Beggar!

It is so important that we, followers of Jesus Christ remember who and what we are and are not, especially during tough times. God’s word in Psalm 37:25 (NIV) is clear that “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.” Whether you are young or old this declaration is worth declaring over you and your family daily. Why? Because there is the power of life and death in every word that we speak. (See Proverbs 18:21.) And we need to listen to what we say over ourselves and situations. According to the Holy Bible we live in what we say. What are you saying? I am going to declare God’s promises, especially during tough times. “For the glory of the Lord, even in tough times, I am a baker and a distributer, but not a beggar!” Amen! And I encourage you to do the same.

Does Your Faith Honor and Please God?

Does your faith honor and please God? This question provokes deep thought, self-examination, and sometimes even conviction. But as true followers of Christ we must be willing to scrutinize our faith, judge it, pick it apart, look for weak areas so that we can work that area of our faith out until it is well-pleasing to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If faith pleases God, and it does, then by it we need to please Him. In the Book of Hebrews 11:6, (NKJV) we read, “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Without faith it is impossible to please Him.

Let’s review a life of a man from the Book of Hebrews that pleased God so much that his testimony was recorded for us to learn from. We will learn from the life of Abel. His recorded testimony in Hebrews 11:4 reads, “By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.” What made Abel’s sacrifice acceptable to God? Cain was a farmer and offered the fruit of his crops. Abel was a shepherd and offered a firstborn from his flock. This caused God to look favorably on Abel’s offering but not on Cain’s. As I ponder upon Abel’s offering, I see he honored God with his first fruits, whereas Cain just gave from what he had.

Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in the process of time, it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord.  Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. Genesis 4:2-5.

We do not know all the details in this situation between Cain and Able and what was required for this offering, but we do know from God’s Word that honoring God is of upmost importance. It always has been, and always will be. Proverbs 3:9 tells us to, “Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops.” (NIV). So perhaps it’s not just what they offered as much as how they gave their offering. Abel’s offering involved putting God before himself, while Cain appears to be just going through the motions. I guess we could compare it to our personal giving, do we give of our first fruits, or do we just throw it in the offering plate? Instead of just giving because we know it’s the right thing to do, let’s take the time, honor God, and do it His way.

We also see that there were sin issues going on in Cain’s heart. For this portion of Scriptures found in Genesis 4:6-12 goes on to say, So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”  Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground. So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.”” (NKJV).

With a little study we can see the difference between Abel and Cain’s offering, and that Abel not only honored God, but gave in faith. He obeyed, honored, and trusted His God. It caused the disobedient brother, Cain to burn with anger, jealousy and hate towards Abel. And Abel even lost his life over his offering. In other words, he gave everything he had to honor his God, and he remained faithful to Him to the end. Reading and studying this account also help us to understand that when our faith honors God, it pleases Him too, and not just in the area of giving, but in all areas of life.

Develop Personal Relationship with the Trinity

Today’s lesson is about developing a personal relationship with God, the Trinity, all of God. Let’s delve into this.

True and personal fellowship with God is so important for us to have today. It’s one thing to believe and receive Jesus Christ as our Savior. And yes, it’s the initial step to your salvation where we become a member of His family, a citizen of Heaven, and are called into His fellowship. But there is more to be had in this eternal relationship, and it’s a step that many have failed to take. God desires us to enter into true fellowship with Him where we actually get to know Him personally. And it’s in this personal fellowship with Him where these eternal benefits like provision and protection and the other benefits are actually activated.

Adam and Eve had perfect fellowship with God. They communed with Him every day, and actually had a set time to meet with Him daily–in the cool of the day. And because of this fellowship they had no lack–everything was instantly provided for them. But they carelessly forfeited it all, and Jesus had to come to this earth to restore what they had foolishly tossed away. Part of what Jesus came to restore was the personal fellowship between God and people.

The more we seek Him, the more we know Him And the more we know Him, the easier it is for us to trust in His faithfulness to us. It’s in this strong bond of trust that we can believe Him in all areas of life, including death and protection from premature death.

These days, if a stranger came to our front door and offered to take care of our needs, we more than likely would not believe him. It’s the same with the Lord, how can we trust in His promises to care for us if we do not know Him well? And if there was ever a time that we need to be able to trust Him to overcome this spirit of death over our nations, the time is now. But it’s difficult when we have not activated our relationship with Him.

God is faithful [He is reliable, trustworthy and ever true to His promise—He can be depended on], and through Him you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, 1 Corinthians 1:9. (AMP)

Okay, we’ve established the fact that we need to have personal relationship with God, but I would adventure to say that for some there is a bit of confusion when I say we need to develop relationship with all of God, the Trinity.

God is three persons, but one God. We have Father God, Jesus Christ, Father God’s Son, and our Savior, and then we have Holy Spirit, the Spirit of the Living God, and the creative, explosive power of God. And we should have a personal relationship with all.

We can see in the following Scriptures that Jesus acknowledges His Father, and Holy Spirit. (There are many verses, but we will look at just a few.)

“I and My Father are one.” John 10:30.

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14:3.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” Matthew 28:19.

“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;” John 14:16.

“When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me,” Jon 15:26.

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” Luke 11:13.

Now, that we’ve established scripturally that Jesus, our Savior acknowledges His Father and Holy Spirit, let’s look at ways to develop relationship and express ourselves to Him.

Let’s pray.

Father God,

I must confess that I do not know You like I should. I ask for forgiveness as I have been born-again for many years, and yet I sense in my spirit that something is lacking in my relationship with You. And I now realize that I have not sought Your fellowship like You desire me to. Holy Spirit, lead me in this deeper relationship. Show me how to fellowship with You throughout my daily activities. Teach me how to sit still and alone with You to listen to You speak to my heart, in Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Now, you take and activate what you just prayed and spend time alone with God daily.

  1. Start your day on your knees before Him, even if for a brief moment, and greet Him by name. Say, “Good morning, Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit. I thank You that this is the day that You have made and I choose to rejoice and be glad in it. I dedicate this day to You for Your service. “
  2. Throughout the day, open up with a word or song of praise and worship to the Lord.
  3. Spend time with Him in the Bible.
  4. Talk to God, share with Him what’s on your heart.
  5. And then sit still, be quiet before Him, and let Him speak to your heart.

The more you do this, the more you will know Him, and fellowshipping with Him will become natural for you.

4 Steps to Overcome Discouragement

Discouragement partners with the spirit of death. And it’s a strong weapon the enemy will use against you–beware of its attachment to death itself. Are you fighting discouragement?

A lady wrote me the other night with the following need for prayer for a miracle. She shares, “My cancer returned after three years, and I feel so bad. I am going to undergo radiation and chemo in the next few days. I need prayer. Please, I need help to get new cells and lymph nodes, and complete healing and removal of all cancer cells in my body.”

This sister in the Lord received a negative medical report, and naturally discouragement follows right behind the negative words of “cancer returns.” And so too the spirit of fear floods her memories of the pain she experienced years ago with all the radiation and chemo treatments and procedures. Knowing she needs help to overcome this discouragement and the deadly attack against her life, she does the right thing and reaches out to someone who will encourage her in the faith to stand strong on the promise of God’s word, “by His stripes she is healed,” see Isiah 53:4-5.

Perhaps, you are in a similar situation as this woman and need help to get out of the realm of discouragement and find someone who will offer hope to trust God for a miracle. If so, you are not alone; many struggle to find a bit of encouragement these days. let’s face it, the news is gloomy, social media is filled with hate, and in general, people have become so negative.

So, where do God’s people find a word of hope? Right from the Source–God’s Word. And this is where we are going to turn to right now and search the Scriptures to fight off discouragement.

Let’s begin with a prayer directly to the Source of encouragement: “From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (Psalm 61:2 NIV).

Psalm 27:14 gives us biblical instruction on how to overcome discouragement: “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, wait, I say, on the Lord!” We are to wait on the Lord with hope, with expectancy, like a pregnant woman awaits the blessed day for the birth of her child.

Consider the word “wait” in a different manner, not just as a period of time passing by waiting for something to happen, but to wait to serve the Lord. Look at this well-known verse from Isaiah 40:31 in this way, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

As we serve the Lord with a true heart, our strength is renewed. We are filled with joy; and because joy is a supernatural strength, we become stronger as we serve Him. And to clarify what I mean by serving the Lord, it doesn’t mean to take on another task at your local place of fellowship, but to wait upon Him as follows:

Four Steps to Find Your Source of Encouragement
1. Believe God. “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.” John 14:1.

2. Worship Him in spirit and in truth. “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24.

3. Pray in the Spirit and encourage yourself. “Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church.” First Corinthians 14:4.

4. Perfect the love of God in you by His Word. “But if anyone obeys His word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in Him.” First John 2:5.

If you follow these simple steps, you will find your Source of encouragement in Christ and overcome the enemy’s power of discouragement.

Reasons You Might Fear that God Doesn’t Care about You

Fear comes in many forms, including the fear that God doesn’t care about you. But I tell you the truth when I say that He does care about you. Let’s look at a few possible reasons you might fear that He does not.

Perhaps, you were raised in a harsh environment filled with violence and you cringe at the thought of a father figure. You grew up with the uncertainty when the next fit of rage would explode again. This type of fear opens one up to an “Orphaned Spirit”. And this spirit will convince you that all fathers are bad, especially Father God. And believing such a lie will prevent you from receiving the love that Father God has for you. Let’s read from the Scriptures about God’s love for you.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life, John 3:16.

Your mercy, O Lordis in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; Lord, You preserve man and beast. How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings, Psalm 36:5-7.

The LORD is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy, Psalm 103:8.

Another reason you might fear God could be that you were raised under a religious spirit, and you believed the lie that you could never measure up to the expectations of your parents, or those of your local church group. What does Jesus say to those who walk under this legalistic spirit, and put such unrealistic expectations upon others?

Then the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness, Luke 11:39.

But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ, Romans 14:10.

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you, Ephesians 4:32.

Maybe you were raised under a negative and lying tongue, and your perception of God is all wrong. And if this is your situation you most likely have a difficult time trusting what God says.  Let’s look at a few biblical reasons as to why you can trust God.

“God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Numbers 23:19.

It is of utmost importance that we refuse to accept the venomous poison of fear into our spirit, that we do not allow fear to paralyze the power of our tongue and that we choose our words wisely and speak faith-filled words of life and healing. Deuteronomy 32:4.

And being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform, Romans 4:21.

Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed, Matthew 8:3.

If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. 2 Timothy 2:13.

And I want to be very clear, that when Father God looks at you, He does not harbor violent thoughts towards you. He doesn’t label you as orphaned. He is not waiting to lash out at you with anger. And He’s not harsh and unrealistic towards you. Psalm 139:17-18 reassures us about God’s thoughts towards us, How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.”
