Why Is My Healing Not Manifesting?

Why is your healing not manifesting? Many people are wondering this as well. I have found that there are two main reasons for this. And the good news is they are both things you are able to work with–change so that your healing can manifest.

There are many reasons as to why your healing is not manifesting, but I find the 2 most common reasons are:

  1. Wrong confessions are being spoken.
  2. Actions and confessions do not agree with one another.

Proverbs 18:21 teaches us that “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” The words we speak are a vital component to supernatural healing. They either allow the healing to manifest or they prevent the power of God to produce a miracle. If you desire healing you must speak words that are full of life and healing.

Also, actions and confessions need to be in alignment with one another. The old adage “You say one thing, but do another.” holds true with divine healing too. If someone is in a battle against death, and they confess that they have the faith for healing, but at the same make funeral plans, they are in error. Their actions do not support life and healing, but death. And that is what they will have. The Bible teaches us in James 2:26, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” You act out what you truly believe.

So, using the above illustration, how do you line up your confession with your actions to produce healing? First of all, speak life and healing over your body. I would advise you to write a confession of faith and speak this over your body throughout the day. Then make a plan to live, write out what you will do tomorrow, the next day, the following week, a year from now, 5, 10 years from today. And actually do what you write down. This is how you can line up your actions with your confessions, and cause your healing to manifest.

Is Jesus Willing to Heal Me?

I know Jesus is able, but is He willing to heal me? Perhaps you believe that Jesus is able to heal, but struggle with doubt as to whether or not He is willing to heal you. Until you discover the answer to this question you will not be able to stand in faith and believe for your healing.

In Luke 5:12, there is a man that asks Jesus the same question. “And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”” He knows Jesus can heal, but he’s not sure if He is willing to heal him.

Jesus responds to this man in verse 13, “Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately the leprosy left him.” And just as Jesus is willing to heal this man from leprosy, He is willing to heal you too. This is why Jesus receives whippings and sheds His blood for you in Isaiah 53:5, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” NKJ

He is willing to heal you!

What Does the Bible Say About Healing?

What does the Bible have to say about healing? Plenty! So much so, that I have written books about the subject. But, let’s take a look at a few basic principles concerning Biblical healing.

  • Our heavenly Father cares about us and sent His Son, Jesus Christ to purchase our healing with His own blood. In Isaiah 53:4-5 we see what He endured for this payment, “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” NKJ
  • God is good, and it is not His desire that we suffer. In Jeremiah 30:17 the Lord says, “I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds.” NKJ
  • Jesus answers a sick man’s question in Luke 5:13 concerning His will to heal him, “Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately the leprosy left him.”
  • His disciple, John prays in 3 John 1:2 “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” NKJ
  • And in the Great Commission found in Mark 16:18 it is written that if we believe we will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.

Healing is part of God’s plan of redemption, and is found throughout the Bible.

Does God Still Heal Today?

Does God still heal today? This is a common question that people want to understand. Let’s find out in the Bible if He still heals today.

Jesus Christ shed His blood to redeem us, and healing is included in His plan of redemption. Isaiah 53: 4-5 says, ”Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.” AMP

Yes, God still heals today, just like He still forgives and offers eternal life to those who believe. He has not retracted physical healing from His blood covenant. Hebrews 13:8 assures us that…

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Does Sickness Come From God?

There is a lot of controversy within the body of Christ as to whether or not sickness and disease come from God? Let’s see what the Bible has to say about this.

Jesus says in John 10:10, The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Jesus explains His motives for coming to this earth, to give us life and life in abundance.

Let me ask you, “Does sickness or disease give us life or life in abundance?” No. So, can they come from God? No, they cannot.

According to James 1:17, God’s gifts are good and perfect. Sickness and disease are not, they do not give us life and life in abundance. But health and healing are good and perfect gifts, and they do give us life and life in abundance, and they are God’s gifts to us.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17 NKJ

Why Am I Sick?

Have you ever asked yourself, “Why am I sick?” We can find the answer to this question in the Word of God. John 16:33 tells us that in this world we will have tribulation, or difficult times. Not because God has planned hard times or tragedy to come our way, but because we have an enemy, satan who is bent on our destruction.

John 10:10a calls satan a thief and tells us that his intentions are to steal, to kill, and to destroy. What do sickness and disease do? They steal, kill, and destroy. How do they do this? They rob us of our health, strength, peace, joy, and our hope for the future, exhaust our resources, tax our relationships, and try to kill our bodies.

So, why are we fighting with sickness and disease? Because satan seeks to destroy us through his weapons of sickness and disease.

Write a Confession of Faith for Healing

Confessions of faith to declare over ourselves and loved ones are very important. And when one is battling against life and death they need the prayers of others to strengthen them and their physical bodies. But in my years of healing ministry, I have come to the realization that most Christians do not know how to pray words of faith, but we can learn how today.

The Bible says in Proverbs 18:21, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” In other words, what we say makes a difference. If we continue to speak symptoms, sickness, disease and death those negative words will take root within our spirits and grow and eventually produce death in our physical bodies.

But the Word of God also says that the tongue  has the supernatural power to produce life. In order to do so, we need to get a hold of our tongues and start to speak faith-filled words that cause our physical bodies to heal.

Now, it is time to take this Biblical truth and put it into action. To start this process we will write up a confession of faith for healing. How do we do this?

With a little investigation we can find basic information about the disease and how it is attacks the physical body. We need to remember that our purpose for this brief time of study is not so we become fearful and surrender to its wickedness. But that we become aware of its tactics, and come up with a strategic battle plan against it.

After we have done a brief study of its pathology and what it seeks to destroy, then it is time to brainstorm and write up a faith confession for healing. When we write up this confession we need to combat the sickness and the symptoms with words of faith that will release life and healing.

For example, a man writes that he is fighting against ALS, and it appears in the natural realm that is overtaking his life. He needs a confession of faith for healing from this wretched disease that is attacking the nerve cells in his brain and spinal cord and is destroying his voluntary muscles, which is stealing the voluntary movement in his arms, legs, speech, and the ability to swallow and breathe freely.

Here is the written confession of faith for his healing:

(Name of person), we renounce a spirit of death, via ALS that is attacking your body. We release the power of the Holy Spirit into your body. We declare that you will live and not waste away and die prematurely. We speak life and regeneration into your nerve cells in your brain and spinal cord, and into your voluntary muscles. We release creative miracles into your muscles, and say that they are nourished supernaturally, and that all scarring and hardening dissolve. Motor neurons regenerate and send impulses to the muscle fibers and normal muscle movement return. Muscles be strengthened, and life return to the arms and legs, and speech, swallowing, and breathing be normal again. We declare all of this in Jesus’ mighty name, amen.

Increase the healing power of the tongue and make copies of your confession of faith for healing and give it to people that want to pray for you. Ask them if they will commit to pray this aloud several times a day for you.

Be A Witness To The Worldly Church

The Worldly Church, we see it broadcast daily into our homes, we witness the evil affects from its false witness, and many of us know people who are trapped in it. How do we reach out and help them to see the need to escape it?

Let’s first read the following text from Revelation 2:12-17.

“And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: The One who has the sharp two-edged sword says this:  ‘I know where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is; and you hold fast My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days of Antipas, My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who kept teaching Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit acts of immorality. So you also have some who in the same way hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans. Therefore repent; or else I am coming to you quickly, and I will make war against them with the sword of My mouth. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.’ ” NASB

He identifies their spiritual location, “where satan dwells”, and continues on with the sins that they willfully commit, the adherence to false teachings, idol worship, and immoral actions. These are serious accusations, and the only hope they have is repentance.

These are spiritually dead people, but they believe what they teach and do is  correct. How then do we reach them? We have to maintain the standard, sound biblical doctrine. Not only do we teach God’s Word, but we must demonstrate the Living Word to them, and live  a godly lifestyle that is biblically based, where compromise is taboo, but love, mercy and compassion abound towards the lost.

Remember what Romans 5:8 says, “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” And just as He loved us while we were still sinners, He loves others before they repent as well. But let it be clearly understood, we do not condone sin. It says in Romans 12:9, “Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.”

We don’t always know what others are going through, but God does. He understands the events that have led them to the place where they are. And if we are going to win these people to the Lord, we will have to lay aside self-righteous pride and be real.

God does not want these people to go to hell, and neither should we. After all, isn’t this the reason that He sent His son Jesus to this earth to redeem them from their sin? “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.” (See John 3:16-17.) The key phrase here is that they “might be saved”, and the Lord is calling us to stand up and be a witness and speak the truth in love to these people before it is too late, because we are living in the last days, and the end is near.

Romans 10:14 asks us a few, but very poignant questions, How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?” Not all preachers wear special collars and stand in a pulpit every Sunday. And in fact, many of these people will no longer listen to one of these preachers, but they might just listen to what you have to say. The reason for the message in Revelation for the Worldly Church is that they might repent and be saved, before it is too late. If we truly believe we are living in the last days, then we will be about our Heavenly Father’s business and win souls, regardless of the evils they are involved in.

Encouragement for the Persecuted Church

The Persecuted Church, we read the biblical accounts of the saints long gone, and we hear the horrifying news about our Christian brethren being tortured today. But do we truly understand what it means to be a member of the Persecuted Church? Jesus does. He can identify with the fear of being tortured for His faith, and knows what it takes to be faithful until the end. He holds His persecuted bride in high esteem; He loves her and has a message of encouragement for her.

In Revelation 2: 8-11 we read the following message, ““And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write, ‘These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life:“I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.”’”

He also says in Matthew 5:10-12 “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ″Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me. ″Rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

The ability to remain faithful in the face of persecution starts with a pure heart, one that is sold out for Jesus, and makes the decision that no-matter-what I will not recant my faith. A believer with such deep devotion to Christ does not intermingle with the backslidden, worldly, unrepentant, spiritually dead or lukewarm Church of today. But gives high honor to the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ, and surrenders his or her will to the Father’s will.

And through their deep devotion to God they can say, We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.” ( See 2 Corinthians 4: 8-11.)

And “For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (See 2 Corinthians 12:10.)

And in the end The Shepherd remains faithful to them as they pass through the revelation of Psalm 23:4, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

Dear Persecuted Church,

What an honor it is to intercede for you. I pray that you will find the spiritual strength to remain faithful ’til the end. And I hope that the effects of my prayers will find their way to you, and that you would be encouraged while under extreme circumstances to fight the good fight of faith, to finish your race, to keep your faith, and to forgive those who persecute you.

Love in Jesus,

A Fellow Believer

A Message For The Backslidden Church

Jesus has an important message for the Church that has left their first love, their Savior, Jesus Christ. Let’s read and discuss what He has to say to the Backslidden Church.

But let’s first read Revelation 2: 1-7.

“To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, ‘These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: “I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”’

This message is written to the Church of Ephesus, which also applies to the modern Church today. First of all, the name Ephesus signifies the spiritual condition of this body of believers. Ephesus means to let go or to relax. (See End Notes.) This is exactly what the Church of Ephesus does, it let’s go of their first love, their Redeemer, Jesus. They fall out of love with Him, and just go through the motions.

He tells us the reason for this in Matthew 24:12 “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”

2 Timothy 7:21-23 tells us that “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

These are people who call themselves believers in Jesus, who prophesy, cast out demons and produce miracles. The Lord says, “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. (See Matthew 15:8.) We are forewarned about this in  2 Timothy 3: 1-5, But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”

This is the condition of the Church of Ephesus, and the Backslidden Church today. And according to Proverbs 3:12 because He loves us He rebukes, disciplines and tells us to be earnest and to repent.  And He has the following rebuke and warning for this portion of the Church today. He says,  “Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.

The Bible tells us how to overcome in this area. “For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.” (See 2 Peter 1:5-9.)

And Hebrews 12:1-3 tells us how not to grow weary and lose heart, Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

It all begins with a decision to look within and see where you are at spiritually with the Lord. David cries out to the Lord, Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.” (Psalm 139:23-24.) I encourage you to do the same.

Let’s pray.

Father God,

I come to You today, and ask for Your forgiveness because my heart is far from You. I am just going through the motions. I need Your help to find my way back to You. I want to be faithful to You until the end my days. I want to hear You say to me, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” (See Matthew 25:23.) I thank You for forgiving me, and receiving me back to You. I love You.

In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
