Will You Judge God Faithful to Heal?

Your situation may seem too difficult for a miracle, perhaps there is no medical cure, or it has been a life-long condition that you have grown accustomed to. Your 5 senses, human reasoning, and medical reports shout this is impossible. Even though, you know the Scriptures say that with God all things are possible, you still struggle with doubt and unbelief.

There was a woman named Sarai, (later her name was changed to Sarah) and she faced an impossible situation. She was barren and even though she was given a promise by God that she would birth a son, she could not see herself ever having a child. Like her husband, Abram, (later his name was changed to Abraham) she had no hope to have a child of her own. Instead of seeing God as her hope, she blamed Him for her barrenness. Sizing up the situation in the natural and using her five senses and human understanding as her guide, she came up with a plan of her own. Abram agreed and conceived a child with her maidservant, Hagar (see Gen. 16). This meddling plan she schemed up was not God’s plan; it was conceived of the flesh, not by faith, and it gave no glory to God, Sarai too had a hard lesson to learn, for now she was despised in the eyes of her maidservant. She made a mess of the situation, and God’s promise did not come to pass.

In order to have a miracle you must first have an impossible situation. And it is important to remember that God’s promise for a miracle cannot be brought to fruition via your human plan or reasoning. You need to submit to God’s supernatural means, faith. And faith is how to obtain your miracle.

Like I said, this woman of God, Sarai made a mess out of the situation and made matters worse because she chose not to trust God by faith and came up with a reasonable solution to a supernatural promise. But God is merciful, and 13 years later He visited her and her husband again and said that if they would listen and this time do it His way, she would bear a son within one year.

Sarah had a decision to make in order for this miraculous promise to come to pass. Would she believe or not? When she first heard the prophetic message from God’s messengers that she would bear a child, she laughed with doubt and unbelief. After all, she was 89 years of age, passed the age of child baring, and she had been barren all her life. When the messengers asked why she laughed at God’s promise, she lied and denied that she had laughed, but they corrected her.  And just as it was with Sarah, God knows what’s in your heart, and your heart needs to be cleansed of all doubt an unbelief for your miracle to come to pass.

Hebrews 11:11 tells us what Sarah had decided. “By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.”

Because she made the right decision, and this was a tough decision to make, all human reasoning and her 5 senses screamed this was impossible, but because she judged God faithful to keep His promise she received strength to conceive and bear Abraham’s son, Isaac at the age of 90. What an amazing woman of faith she became. Will you be like her and judge our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ faithful to keep His promise and conceive the strength to receive your healing and miracle?

Need Advice How to Minister Healing

“Morning Becky, if you have time I need a little advise. I am going to pray for a man who has cancer and is dying. His daughter who goes to our church said she is at peace because he is born again. I would say he is mid 60’s. I told him I would come over to pray and that I expect a complete recovery. I will curse the cancer and command it to leave along with new life to flow into him in Jesus’ name and also pray as the Holy Spirit leads me.”

Dear Mike,

1. Ask the man what he wants. You want to bring him to the place where he himself confesses life. You will probably need to do a little teaching about God’s will concerning healing. Read to him from Chapter 3, Resolving Doubts and Questions , focusing in on “Premature Death” on pages 81-83 of DARE to Believe. Make it very clear that God is not the author of cancer and premature death, but the giver of life.
2. Encourage him that God says we are to choose life. Its a decision that he has to make, but life is God’s will always. He needs to confess that He wills for him to be healed and live.
3. Lay your hands upon him, I would anoint him with oil, he needs a strong visual. Renounce the spirit of death, cancer, pain, fear and unbelief. Release the Spirit of life to flow into his body, cells, blood, effected body parts. Command the pain and swelling to leave. (Pain is a controller you need to get it off of him.) Command cells, blood, body parts and systems to be recreated, to function together to produce life. Declare the Word over him that he will live and not die.
4. Spend time teaching him that his words have the power to create or to destroy and give him actual confessions to speak.
5. If you can baptize him with the Holy Spirit and have him pray in the Spirit everyday over his body, his healing will manifest more rapidly.

I know that is quite a list, but he is suffering from the result of wrong doctrine.

God’s Promise When Difficulties Come

We live in turbulent times. The earth is full of offenses and betrayals, hatred and violence, wars and rumors of wars, famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in unusual places. A spirit of deception is rising and many are falling. Right is wrong, and wrong is now right, and the hearts of many are growing cold towards the Lord. Jesus prophesies these events in Matthew 24.

In the midst of these frightening and disheartening events, Jesus Christ promised us in Hebrews 13:5, that He would never leave us or forsake us. God sent His Word in Isaiah 43:1b and encouraged us to not be afraid, because He has redeemed us.

He continues to encourage us in Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.” It is important to take note that the scriptures say when and not if.

Jesus Christ redeemed us, and purchased our deliverance from all evil by His blood.

Even though the earth is in turmoil, His promise remains true, because we have a blood covenant with the Father that cannot be broken. And this blood covenant is eternal and it includes our protection and provision to overcome in these last days.

Jesus says in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Why Are Some Not Healed?

Barb writes; “There are many in my life that I have prayed for healing for years. I have learned to quit asking and  thank God for working in their bodies. I quote, “Healing is the children’s bread” and I ask God to give us this day our daily bread (healing). It is difficult when these people seem to get worse and not better. Your thoughts…”

My Thoughts Barb, are as follows.
“Give us this day, our daily bread…” The first words I heard when I read this comment were; “The Bread and the Wine have already been served.” It isn’t that God is withholding healing. Jesus already broke bread (His Body) for us when He bowed down and gave His back to be brutally whipped for our healing, and He already poured the Wine; (His Blood) when He shed His Blood on Calvary so that we could walk in a new Blood Covenant called grace.

I’ve learned to stop asking “God, why?” and have challenged myself to look into that spiritual  mirror and ask myself; “Becky, why?” “Becky, why are you having trouble receiving this healing from God?” “Becky, what is standing in the way?” “Becky, why are you getting worse and not getting better?” If I don’t know the answer, I ask God to show me what’s in my heart. And I can stand confidently before Him, without guilt or condemnation, because I know that His grace is for me and not against me, and ask for His revelation in the matter.

Sometimes, the answer lies in my past, and I’m having trouble dealing with something that did or didn’t happen. It almost always has to do with negative words that were spoken, whether they were spoken by me or another, they have to be stopped, dealt with, forgiven or repented of, and then changed to positive ones, because Proverbs 18:21 says that there is the power of life and death in the tongue. Other times, the answer has to do with my present situation. Maybe, I’m having difficulty forgiving someone, or I’ve done something that I need to repent of and make right. And I also need to make sure I am not focusing in on my 5 senses and human reasoning, but fixing my eyes on Jesus and not on the pain or the sickness. Perhaps, I’m feeling insecure about my future and am starting to enter into the realm of doubt, confusion and the fear of failure that God won’t heal me, or couldn’t heal me because I have not been living up to religious standards. If it reaches this point, my heart is a mess because I’m living in a lie that God’s grace is against me and not for me. I then need to stop and start over, repent to God, forgive myself, and last, but not least, I need to open up the Bible and read, reread, and read some more, until my heart is at peace and my faith has risen again, so that I can actually believe again. Barb, do you think these others are a bit like me?

Ministering Healing at Work

Amy writes, “I feel like I have a lot of hindrances. I work in a place that is seemingly non conducive to faith. I mean I work in a hospital. When I tell people I believe it is God’s will to heal every person and that God is able to heal, people just look at me with blank, dead stares, as if they don’t believe me. That makes me doubt that any healing can take place. I guess I don’t really see people’s “faith peak” as you called it. There is a man, that I led to the Lord, soul salvation anyway [ he experienced deep peace] when we prayed, and we saw slight results [ his paralyzed arm exhibited flexibility instead of stiffness, but he could not move it on his own]. This guy I have been ministering to for months off and on. He still doesn’t have enough of his “own” faith to be healed. When I pray for him we don’t see results, but yet I believe God is willing and able to heal. I’ve been thinking how maybe people need to see YOU (Becky.. or me.. or whoever is ministering to them) as an effective authoritative minister of God, as willing and able to heal. I don’t have many testimonies of healing that’s I’ve personally seen (only ones I’ve heard about). Plus, If I’m just their nurse at the hospital. That’s all they can see me as. I don’t think they have faith in me or my ability to give them something from God. What do you think about this Becky?”

Amy, I appreciate your honest desire to understand and to walk in the healing power of the Holy Spirit. There are eight different points that I would like to address in your last comment.
#1. Sharing your faith in the work place: I have no doubt you are right where God wants you to be, in a hospital ministering divine healing. What an awesome opportunity for an eternal harvest He has set before you!
#2. You are correct when you say they don’t believe you. And I would like to add the word; “yet” after that statement. That is exactly why God has placed you there, to teach and to encourage them to have faith in God and in His healing power. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” Romans 10:17. Amy, give them something to hear, and give them the Word of God.
#3. Even though the soil is hard, don’t be discouraged. I would like to give you a visual to meditate upon. See each patient as a garden, and you are a gardener. The condition of the soil (the spirit) will be different for each person. You will have to work the soil (encouragement and testimonies) and pull up weeds (doubt and confusion), but then comes the planting (teaching the Word), watering that seed (more encouragement and testimonies), and do some more weeding (deal with doubts and confusion as they arise), then comes harvest time (manifestations of healings and salvations).
#4. If you don’t see the person’s faith peak, have patience, and continue to encourage, testify and teach. It will happen. A gardener knows that if they work the soil, plant a seed and tend to that seed well, that eventually a plant will appear.
#5. Praise the Lord, the man you’ve been ministering to received the Lord! Now continue to disciple him in the Word concerning healing. The manifestation of healing will follow the teaching of healing.
#6. I agree with you, we ministers of reconciliation, need to walk in authority over sickness and disease, and we need to be willing to lay hands on the sick and heal in the name of Jesus.
#7. You say you don’t have personal healing testimonies to share, and again I add “yet” to the end of that statement. If you will put your faith into action you will have your own testimonies, but in the meantime, share Jesus’ healing testimonies, or you can even share mine.
#8. If you are concerned they can only see your uniform, or your position, than do something about that. With short-term patients, invite them to a Bible Study at your home about healing. My books; DARE to Believe, Greater Than Magic, and my soon to be released, The Healing Creed are filled with teachings and testimonies, how to minister healing, how to put faith in action, questions, faith assignments, personal reflections that can be used in group settings as well as personal study. If they are long-term patients, visit them on your time off and read the Word concerning healing to them, read my book to them. Pray, God will give you direction in all of this. I hope this helps.

Release the Power of Your Faith

Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 17: 45-51.

What type of fear-tactics is the enemy taunting you with today? And what can you do about it? There is a young boy in the Bible that faced his giant, and did not give into his bullying or trash talk, And he actually won against all odds. There are powerful lessons in this well-known battle, let’s look at one of these lessons today.

David, the Shepherd Boy with his slingshot in hand, fearlessly rises to the occasion, accepts the challenge, ignores the obvious, and with full confidence in His God replies to Goliath’s threat, “Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’S, and he will give you into our hands.” (See 1 Samuel 17:45-47.)

After making his declaration of faith, he takes action, pulls back on the slingshot and releases his faith. The small stone flies through the air and hits his enemy right-smack-dab in the middle of the forehead. The mighty terror falls on his face to the ground, dead! David picks up Goliath’s sword and chops his head off.  As the Philistine army sees what happens to their prized champion they flee as fast as they can, and David, the shepherd boy becomes the new world champion!

I know your enemy, satan is bearing down hard, and he is fully equipped with the latest up-to-date weapons called AIDS, ALS, Cancer, Diabetes…and the death reports are frightening and overwhelming. But, as a Christian, you have an even greater weapon in your sling, “Jesus, The Rock”. You pull back, and let loose your faith, and that giant will tumble down!

God Is Waiting On Our Faith

There are times in life when it just doesn’t make any sense to believe God’s promise. I’m sure when Moses and the Israelites were standing at the shores of the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s army was bearing down hard upon them it just didn’t make sense. And so the people panicked, started to complain, and wished they were back in Egypt.

Maybe you are facing a situation today that just doesn’t make any sense at all to trust in God’s promises. The enemy is pursuing you with all his might, and the circumstance in front of you looks grim. And so like the Israelites, you start to grumble, complain and even doubt God’s ability to rescue you.

That’s how it was for the Israelites and that’s how it can be for us when we allow circumstances to dictate our faith in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.

Moses, the mighty man of God cries out to the people in Exodus 14:13-14,And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” And this is all true and good, but God responds to Moses in a rather surprising way in verses 15-19, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.  But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. And I indeed will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them. So I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen. Then the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gained honor for Myself over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”

God wants more than to rescue us, He wants us to strengthen our faith in Him, trust Him, move forward, and not just talk faith, but to actually live faith. He told Moses to put his faith into action, tell the people to move forward and while doing so he was to lift up his rod, stretch out his hand over the sea and divide it for himself!

So often we want God to part the Red Sea that is in front of us that separates us from entering the promised land, the miracle that we so desperately need. We, like Moses cry out and say, “God part the waters for us!” And God is responds, “No, you put your faith in Me into action, and according to your faith it will happen.”  God is waiting on our faith.

How do we do this?

  1. Strengthen our faith in the Word of God until we believe. If we need healing we study healing until we believe it.
  2. We pray in the Holy Spirit until we part that Red Sea that is hindering us from entering into the Promised Land. God’s realm of the supernatural where the miracles are waiting on us to be released.
  3. Speak the promises of God concerning our situation.
  4. Put our faith into action, don’t wait for God to do something, He already has at Calvary. Now, it is up to us to activate the miraculous by our faith in His Plan of Atonement.

If we will take these 4 steps and work them until that spiritual Red Sea opens up for us, then we will be able to walk right on through and into the Promised Land, the miracle we seek.

God Can Handle Our Mistakes

I was mentoring a dear friend of mine in the ways of the Spirit, and while we ere traveling in Tanzania together I asked her to share from her heart a testimony at the next service. At first she was apprehensive. She responded, “What if I make a mistake?” I replied, “God can handle our mistakes.”

During the earlier days of this training with the Holy Spirit, I recall a time when I did not heed the Lord’s voice quickly because I became sidetracked with something else.

While I was cooking black beans in the pressure cooker on the stove, I decided to take advantage of the time and went to clean out the storage area. I became distracted with the disorder in this room and forgot about the black beans on the stove, but the Lord remembered. He clearly said to me, “Go and shut the black beans off now.” I responded, “Oh, the beans!” I started off immediately to the kitchen, but before I could get out the door of the storage room I came across another mess that grabbed my attention. The Lord said to me again, “Go and shut the black beans off right now!” I said, “Yes, I will.” But again I became distracted. Then all of a sudden I heard a large BOOM! I ran into the kitchen as fast as I could, but because i did not move quickly to the command of the Lord, the pressure cooker had exploded and black beans dripped from the ceiling and ran down the walls. There were black beans everywhere!

The Lord tried to warn me, but I became distracted with other things and missed out on His timing of the immediate response. But even in this mess that I had created for myself I can assure you that God gave me another opportunity and I cooked another pot of black beans for Him.

Dear Lord,

Forgive me for the times that I do not heed Your voice immediately because I become distracted with the things of this world. Help me to set aside these distractions and respond quickly to Your commands.

In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Step Forward Into the Supernatural

A clear understanding of the supernatural is necessary. For too long Christians of the Western world have denied its existence while the Eastern world has readily walked in the supernatural, but denied God. Why did the Christians of the Western world deny the supernatural? Why did the Eastern world deny God but accept the supernatural? Where is the truth in all this denial? A failure to understand the true power of the supernatural results in confusion and corruption of the truth. It is this confusion and corruption that mystifies the supernatural and leads many to stray from God and into occult practices. And this same mystification of the supernatural causes some Christians to become wary and fearful and step back and turn away from it. But is this fear the correct response from Christians? People fear what they do not understand. This fear stems from a lack of knowledge. A deficiency of knowledge, especially in God’s Word, is destructive. God says through His prophet in Hosea 4:6a, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” He goes on to say that His people even reject it. They are unaware that everything that manifests in the physical world is an irrefutable result of spiritual occurrences around them. When it comes to partaking of the Word of God, many are malnourished. They do not have the substance to live victoriously. This insufficiency of the supernatural power of God causes great damage to the Body of Christ. It hinders God’s miraculous intervention to reach His people. God wants us to understand His supernatural ways. And according to John 16:13 in the Amplified Version of the Bible, He sends His Truth-giving Spirit to guide us into all truth, including the revelation knowledge of the supernatural. Jesus shares the power source of this truth in John 8:31-32. He says, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

I met a beautiful Christian woman at a private meeting in Chicago, Illinois, who suffered needlessly for 25 years of unbearable pain from a tethered spine because she was not taught the truth about supernatural healing. But her healing almost didn’t happen because she was afraid that perhaps God would not heal her. After she heard the truth from God’s Word concerning the Lord’s will to heal, she was released from fear. Healing hands were laid upon her and she was instantly healed and delivered from all pain and suffering. When we walk in the revelation of the Word, the presence of the Spirit of Truth manifests with signs and wonders through us and draws the hurting to Himself. As we allow the reality of Christ to shine through us, their spiritual eyes see beyond the deadness of religion that quenches the power of the Spirit. And as His active supernatural power works through us, it shatters the spiritual darkness that holds them in bondage and escorts them into a living relationship with the one true God. By the supernatural ability of faith a man was saved just in the nick of time. I met this Guatemalan man for the first time while he was in a coma breathing his last breaths. He was quickly slipping away from this earth. Now, religion would read him his last rites and hope he makes it into the sweet by-and-by, but there is no need to guess when the supernatural ability of faith is in operation and the Gifts of the Spirit are activated. As I walked up to his hospital bed, I could see a spiritual cloud of darkness all around him. I knew by the discerning of spirits found in 1 Corinthians 12 that he was not saved. I reached out and touched him and told him to wake up. He did, and he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. What would have happened to this man had I not known how to operate in the supernatural power of faith? What if I had been intimidated by the situation and walked away? He would have died and been lost for an eternity in hell. I thanked God I arrived just in time and that I had the courage to believe what the Bible said about the supernatural ability of faith. But how many people entered into their eternal destination without Jesus Christ because the brethren were either intimidated by the situation or did not know how to operate in the supernatural power of faith?

Dear Jesus, As Your spiritual body, we repent for our part in the denial and rejection of the supernatural, for our lack of knowledge and for the unnecessary destruction that it causes in the lives of so many of Your people. Forgive us, for we do not realize the consequences that others suffer when we allow fear and ignorance to paralyze and override the supernatural ability of our faith. Holy Spirit, we need Your gift of discernment in these last days. Lead us and guide us into all truth that we may walk freely in the power of Your might. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

A Heart of Faith

A vibrant relationship with the Spirit of God ignites the heart with faith, erases the concept of impossible and releases the possible into every situation. This is why it is most important to closely monitor the spiritual condition of the heart. The spiritual heart is a vital organ; the strength of its intentions controls our every thought and action. A spiritual heart becomes strong by dying to the desires of the flesh and self-centeredness. It takes on the attitude, “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30). It also accepts the way of Christ; “Not My will, but Yours, be done” (Luke 22:42b). The Spirit of God closely examines the heart to see if it truly belongs to Him. He tests it (see Ps. 7:9). In 1 Samuel 16:7b we see the importance that God places on the condition of the heart:”For the Lord does not see as man sees;  for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” It either compels or repels Him. Also, a heart of faith is what keeps the rest of the spiritual body alive and active for His glory.

A heart that compels the Spirit is one that has been broken by Him. Just as when a horse is broken in by its master, the wild will is broken into submission. Submission goes beyond mere obedience; it deals with our willingness to surrender to His will. Being broken by God is a matter of the heart. It’s a painful and yet very freeing process. I asked God to break me and refashion me. I took a clay pot into prayer once. I dropped it on the floor and it broke into pieces, then I asked Him to do that with me. Why? I had been a Christian for many years and was even a missionary. I had a good relationship with the Lord, but I was hungry for Him. I said in my heart, “Lord, I desire to have a deeper relationship with You.” He granted me my request. He broke me. But He did not leave me in pieces on the floor. In time, He picked up the pieces one by one and refashioned me so that I could be used by Him more effectively.

This heart of faith desires to be at the feet of Jesus. It longs to be in His presence and to minister to Him. As a little girl I learned how to sit at the feet of the Lord by my earthly father. I looked forward to the late afternoon when my dad would come home from a long day of work. He would sit down at the kitchen table and I would kneel at his feet and remove his boots. It was one of those moments that I looked forward to every day with great anticipation, and he knew it.

I looked up to my dad with respect. I trusted him to honor his word. I listened to him and I obeyed him. I would start at my father’s feet ministering to him, but  I would end up in my daddy’s lap with him ministering to me. This daily time spent with my earthly father prepared me to spend time with my heavenly Father.

I start with worship at the feet of my Lord, then end up in His lap while we fellowship with one another. I talk less and listen more to His loving words of encouragement and wisdom.

I encourage you to spend time alone with your heavenly Father every day.
