These 30 love scriptures are designed to teach you how to love God, others, and yourself. Imagine the impact we can make if we will put these into practice on a daily basis.

Love Gives: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
How to Love God: “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.“ Mark 12:30.
The Reason We Can Love God: “We love Him, because He first loved us.” 1 John 4: 19.
God is Love: “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.“ 1 John 4:8.
God’s Type of Love: “The LORD passed in front of Moses, calling out, “Yahweh! The LORD! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.” Exodus 34:6.
How to Love Others: “And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.“ Mark 12:31.
What Love Does Not Do to Others: “Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.“ Romans 13:10.
How Husbands Are to Love their Wives: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” Ephesians 5:25.
How Wives Are to Love their Husbands: “Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.“ Ephesians 5:33.
How to Love Your Enemies: “But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.“ Luke 6:35.
Love Forgives: “In accordance with your great love, forgive the sin of these people, just as you have pardoned them from the time they left Egypt until now.” Numbers 14:19.
Love is Sincere: “Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.” Romans 12:9.
Love Bears One Another: “With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.” Ephesians 4:2.
Love is Fearless: “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.“ 1 John 4: 18.
Christians Love One Another: “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.“ 1 John 4:7.
When Do We Love? : “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.“ Proverbs 17:17.
You Love With Your Actions: “By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.“ 1 John 3:16-18.
The Attributes of Love: “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.“ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.
What Love Cannot Do: “Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.” 1 Corinthians 13:8.
What I Sound Like Without Love: “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.“ 1 Corinthians 13:1.
The Worth of Spiritual Gifts Without Love: “And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.“ 1 Corinthians 13:2.
What I Gain by Acts of Charity Without Love: “And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.“ 1 Corinthians 13:3.
How We Should Do Things: “Let all that you do be done with love.“ 1 Corinthians 16:14.
What You Should Always Keep With You: “Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.” Proverbs 3:3-4.
What We Can Rely On: “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” 1 John 4:16.
How We Are to Be Rooted and Established: “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love.” Ephesians 3:16-17.
Love’s Greatest Expression: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13.
We Owe One Another this One Thing: “Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.” Romans 13:8.
What God Lavishes Upon Us: “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.“ 1 John 3:1.
A Love Prayer for You: “May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.” 1 Thessalonians 3:12.

Inner Wounds that Only Jesus Can Heal

There are times in life that our hearts are overwhelmed with sorrow and grief, and that unspeakable pain that permeates one’s being. It’s times like these that we must find the way to heal.

Allow yourself to become vulnerable to family and friends that truly want to help in your time of need. They love you, and care about you. You will find you do not have to explain much, they already know and understand the situation. They desire to be a support beam for you to lean upon when you feel weak.

And then there are those unexpected people that God will speak to concerning you to find a way to reach out to you to also help to carry you through. Don’t be closed minded, you may find a rich jewel in a new friendship that will bless you in your time of sorrow.

Then there are times when the people around you are not able to reach inside and heal the deep wound of sorrow. This is the time when you need to choose to grab a hold of the Spirit of the Living God for help, inner healing, peace and strength that does not come from this world.

I share a testimony in my new book, The Healing Creed about a woman who lost all 5 of her children in one tragic day. And how she finally found her way with Jesus to inner healing, peace, and the strength to live another day with the assurance that it was okay to smile again. She overcame the fear based control that prevented others to come near her. Her ashes, sorrow and hopelessness were healed by Jesus alone, and transformed into His beauty. The spirit of heaviness fell off and she found joy once again.

There are different levels of healing, and God uses people to help us through difficult trials in this life, and then there is a deep inner healing that only God alone can heal, but we have to choose to wipe the ashes of sorrow off and allow Him to wash us with His atoning blood, and make us whole again.

Need to Make a Difficult Decision?

Need to make a difficult decision? Do you feel as if you are backed into a corner and you just don’t know what you should do? We’ve all been in this place one time or another, and although it is not a pleasant place to be there is an answer.

James 1:5 encourages us with these words, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” This word “wisdom”, sophía, G4678 in the Strong’s Concordance means either worldly or spiritual wisdom, and skill in the management of affairs.

This is a bit of good news for those that are in a tough spot or feel as though they are pressed between a rock and a hard place. God wills to lead us in our decision making process. We just need to remember to take the time to ask Him to show us the way. And He also gives to us His Holy Spirit as our guide. “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.” John 16:33.

This Scripture clearly states that the Holy Spirit will guide you. It doesn’t say that the Holy Spirit will push or force you into a decision, but that He will show you the way. He does not use fear tactics, but leads you into all truth, not just a bit of the truth concerning a matter, but will reveal all truth pertaining to the situation. But the main point here is that He does not push, He leads you, guides you, woos you, and shepherds you into all truth.

For example, your doctor tells you if you do not take this medicine you won’t get well, but the warning label on the medicine bottle clearly reads this medicine will make you sick. Or worse yet, your doctor tells you the medicine or treatment you are taking is not working, but if you stop taking it you will die. This is a difficult situation to find yourself in, and it demands that you make a quality decision and quickly.

Your doctor is giving it to you straight, as he or she sees it. And in the natural realm the diagnose could be correct, but does it include the ultimate option of faith. Elohim, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are omniscience, all-knowing. They understand the problem and they know how to heal it. God is also omnipotent, all-powerful, and has the ability to make you whole again. Trust and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth concerning healing. Remember, God isn’t moved by time, but by faith. And He only needs one moment to reveal all the truth you need to heal.

Then there are other types of decisions that are not urgent, such as making a large purchase in which you need to borrow more money than you should or would like. What do you do? An old pastor of mine once told the congregation concerning these types of decisions, “If it can’t wait 2 weeks then it probably is not of God”. This is so true.

I remember when my husband and I were newly married and we had a salesman come to our home trying to sell us cemetery plots. We politely listened to his sales pitch and told him that even though there was wisdom in what he shared with us we could not make an immediate decision but needed time to think about this. The man was so upset and started shouting at us, thinking his nasty tone and meanness would insure him a quick sale. It did not. We activated the godly golden nugget of the 2 week waiting period given to us by our pastor by the leading of the Holy Spirit concerning these types of matters.

Hasty decisions are usually ones that you will regret, and they can cause serious family, relationship, financial, and even health problems. When growing up, my grandma had a plaque hanging on her kitchen wall that said, “The hurrieder I go, the behinder I get!” I often remind myself with those old words of wisdom that hung on her wall. I also take to heart what Moses says to the people in Numbers 9:8, “Stand still, that I may hear what the Lord will command concerning you.” In other words, “Stop, drop to your knees, pray, and find out what God has to say about the matter before calling out your decision.”

If you feel any confusion in your heart concerning the matter, don’t ignore it. This is probably a signal from God that something is not right. Take the time needed to pray through to His peace, because God is not the author of confusion. (See 1 Corinthians 14:33.)

And again I reiterate, the Holy Spirit leads us, He does not force us into a decision as our enemy, satan does. You will save yourself from a whole lot of heartache and negative consequences if you will learn to follow God’s leading, and not respond hastily to the enemy pushing you into a bad decision.

Will Someone Pray for Me?

I was standing waist deep in the Jordan River baptizing the ladies who came with me on the recent trip to Israel, when all of a sudden I heard a woman cry out as loud as she could, “Will someone pray for me?” I turned around and walked over to her and she said to me, “I have stage 4 cancer.” I responded, “And I am a healing evangelist.” The woman began to weep, she knew the Lord heard her cries.

In Jesus’ name, I renounced the spirit of death, cancer, tumors, pain, weakness, and fear, and released the Spirit of Life to flow throughout her entire body, and in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit she was baptized in the Jordan River.

Her son who brought her to the Jordan River that day thanked me for ministering to his mother.

This is a beautiful testimony that demonstrates God’s faithfulness, mercy, and compassion towards His people. It also shows us how God wills to work out the intricate details to bring the answer to our faith-filled prayers. The hand of God was definitely involved in this divine encounter.

But it pains my spirit to know that people are so desperate for a healing touch that they will travel long distances, cry out to a crowd of complete strangers if someone would please pray for them. And yet, I see this time and time again. People have to search high and low for someone that has the faith to believe and pray with them for healing.

Let’s be bold, and make ourselves readily available to join our faith with others in need, and minister hope and healing to them in the name of Jesus.

Thankfulness verses Entitlement

An important lesson in life, including your healing is to be thankful to the Lord for it. And it really must be important that out of all healings that took place through the hands of Jesus that the following account of the 10 lepers who were healed was recorded in the New Testament for us to learn from today.

All too often, and more so today, people are bound by the sin of entitlement and do not stop for a moment to say thank you. Obviously, giving thanks is important to God or He wouldn’t have told the Holy Spirit to have the men of God write it down in the scrolls for us to learn from.

“Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”” Luke 17:11-19.

Let’s think about what it was like for these 10 lepers. They were full of a non-curable disease that slowly ate them to death. They were unsightly, full of puss and pain, rejected and feared. They were unable to work for a living, had to steal or scrounge for something to eat, or depend upon the mercy of others for their daily bread. When others came near them, they were to call out about themselves, “Unclean! I’m unclean!” This was to protect the one passing by to stay away so they would not catch this contagious disease. To put it plainly, life was miserable for them.

Then Jesus, the great healer walks by, they cry out for mercy and He heals all 10 of them. That’s the love of Jesus, compassion in action. Now, one would think that as these 10 lepers saw themselves healed that they would be so grateful to the one that healed them, but they were not. At least not enough to turn and say thank you for healing me. They just all went their own way, but one.

You may think I am being petty, but I guess God doesn’t think the quality of thankfulness is a little thing. We shouldn’t think of it that way either. This testimony shows the heart of most people. It exposes the sin of entitlement. That selfish attitude that others owe you something, and you have no responsibility. The world revolves around me, myself, and I.

You say, “Yes, but this is the gift of healing.” Yes, healing is a gift, and it is free to us that will believe, but free does not mean cheap. Healing changes someone’s life. Think of these 10 lepers and how their lives changed, and instantly.

Just as Jesus questioned the ungratefulness of the 9 lepers that were healed, He is questioning us today. Are we truly grateful for all that the Lord has done for us, including healing? Or are we self-centered and forgot that the World revolves around Jesus, the Savior and we are to be about our heavenly Father’s business and win people to Him?

Are we too caught up in what we want out of life, the way we look, and what others think of us, that we bear this sin of entitlement, even towards God? Thankfulness is not a little thing, it’s an important quality that helps us to be healthy in spirit, soul, and in body.

Wield the Word

The Word of God is our spiritual weapon to overcome the attacks of the enemy, satan. It’s supernatural power works. And all Christians need to learn how to wield the Word. It is imperative that true believers have a working knowledge how to use the weapon of the word of God for themselves. Without this revelation on how to wield the Word God’s people live in defeat, because they do not know how to use their spiritual weaponry.

The Bible is clear that we will go through difficulties on this earth. Look what Jesus says in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” There has been a false doctrine running around the Church that Christians will not experience difficulties, and if they do run into a bit of trouble then they must be in sin. Where does it say this in the Word? If Church people would only open up God’s Word and read it and put its message into practice then the body of Christ would have more victory in their lives. Jesus’ words are clear here, in this world you will have tribulation, meaning difficult times. But He desires us to live in His victory when tribulation comes.

How do we live in His victory against the wiles of the devil? God gives us a supernatural weapon to overcome by His word. And He expects us to use it. Revelation 12:11says “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Our spiritual weapons in this verse to overcome are the redemptive blood of Jesus, and by the words of our testimony. When we take on God’s vocabulary of victory we have victorious testimonies to declare for the glory of the Lord and for the benefit of others.

If we are being tormented by fear wield the Word of God and declare, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.“ 2 Timothy 1:7.

When you feel weak and tempted to give in, prophesy over yourself, “And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.“ 2 Corinthians 12:9-11.

While you face a difficult situation start to transform it and the way you see the situation with these words, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.“ Philippians 4:13.

If you receive a bad medical report from your physician release healing into your body with His healing report, “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:4-5.

This is how you wield the weapon of the Word, declare it, not just one time, but daily, and then you live it.

Let Your Faith Loose

In 1 Samuel 17: 45-51, we read about David, the shepherd boy with his slingshot in hand, fearlessly rises to the occasion, accepts the challenge, ignores the obvious, and with full confidence in His God replies to Goliath’s threat, “Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’S, and he will give you into our hands.”

After making his declaration of faith, he takes action, pulls back on the slingshot and releases his faith. The small stone flies through the air and hits his enemy right-smack-dab in the middle of the forehead. The mighty terror falls on his face to the ground, dead! David picks up Goliath’s sword and chops his head off. As the Philistine army sees what happens to their prized champion they flee as fast as they can, and David, the shepherd boy becomes the new world champion!

I know your enemy, satan is bearing down hard, and he is fully equipped with the latest up-to-date weapons called AIDS, ALS, Cancer, Diabetes … and the death reports are frightening and overwhelming. But, as a Christian, you have an even greater weapon in your sling, “Jesus, The Rock”. You pull back, and let your faith loose, and that giant will tumble down!

The Intimidation of the Enemy

In 1 Samuel 17: 1-44 we read about the time of war between the Israelites and the Philistines. Both armies are standing on opposite hills ready to engage in battle. Every day the Philistine army sends out their champion warrior, Goliath. Everyday this prized champion sends forth a challenge to the Israeli army that echoes across the valley;

“Choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me. If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.”1 Samuel 17:8b-9

Goliath the “Mean-Fighting-Machine” is known and feared for his size and strength. He is the champion. The one everyone dreams of defeating, but dares not step into the ring with. Who will become his next victim?

The day of the Super-Heavyweight Final has arrived, and the stakes are high. Will the Israelites become enslaved to the Philistines? Who will accept Goliath’s challenge?

The champ is fully decked out with his state-of-the-art armor and weapons. His very presence intimidates everyone. In fact, as they take one look at Goliath they all run and hide. He wants to fight one-on-one. He has complete confidence in his size and skill and knows he will conquer whoever steps forward. He is ready and waits for a striking battle. Who will fight Goliath?

He becomes angry when he sees who the Israelites send out to fight him. Before him stands a young shepherd boy. He walks the fields with the lambs and the sheep. What does he know about fighting? Now, this is the size mismatch of all time. He can just see the headlines now; “Champion Giant Slaughters Shepherd Boy”. What a disappointing fight this will be for his spectators and utterly unfair for the young boy. He lets out a disgusted howl towards David, “Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves?” (See 1 Samuel 17:43).

But never-the-less he will fight. He tries to intimidate the young boy with his trash-talk and threatens away, “Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.” (See 1 Samuel 17:44).

Perhaps, you are in a raging battle with Goliath. Learn from David’s example of fearlessness and overcome satan’s trash talk and intimidation.

Whose Report Will You Choose to Believe?

When faced with difficulties whose report will you choose to believe? Will you choose to believe the human report that states there is no hope when My word declares, “Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10. Will you continue to degrade yourself with negative thoughts when you can see in Psalm 139: 17-18, “How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.” Do you fear being alone when I impart my intentions concerning this matter to you, “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6. Will you trust My promise when I say, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Mark 19:26. Or will you continue to lean on your own understanding when I tell you not too. See Proverbs 3:5-6.

Life is filled with many choices, You can choose to trust or doubt Me. I give you the freedom to do so. But please remember, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.“ Isaiah 55:8. Do not confuse My ways with the enemy’s nature, “I make it plain when I say in John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.“ And lastly, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3.
