How to Receive Healing through God’s Word

The Bible is filled with healing promises, but how do we activate and receive His supernatural power to heal us through His word?

  1. Study God’s healing word.

God’s Word tells us in Proverbs 4:20, “My son, give attention to My words, incline your ear to My sayings”. And Romans 10:17 tells us what happens when we give attention to God’s word. It says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God”.

In order for faith to arise for supernatural healing we need to read and study the Bible concerning healing. And not just read it occasionally but on a consistent basis. Consume God’s healing promises until His word become more real to us then the symptoms, sickness, or negative report.

I’ve had to take control of my thoughts, and fight the flesh to stay in His presence in His healing word to overcome negative thoughts from the enemy, pain, and symptoms. And I have found if I will not give up the good fight of faith His healing power prevails in my body.

Take this even further, and start to pray and fast while you fill yourself with the Word of God. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you His divine revelation of His promise to heal you. He wants us to understand His word, and is willing to show us how to activate His healing power in our life.

Once our healing manifests, then we need to learn to walk in divine health by the continuation of our study in the healing message.

  1. Focus on God’s word, not on symptoms.

Proverbs 4:21 tells us, “Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart.” I find it interesting that we are admonished not to let His words depart from our eyes. We need to purpose in our hearts that we are going to focus our spiritual eyes on His healing promises and not on the ailments. Also, it says that we are to keep His words in the midst of our hearts. Guard His healing promises, don’t allow the enemy to steal the Lord’s promise to heal as you fight off symptoms with the Word of God.

  1. Stand firm on God’s healing promises.

Proverbs 4:22 tells us the blessing that comes from standing firm on His words. “For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” It also says in Ephesians 6:13, “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.”

Life and health are the blessings that come from a lifestyle that is built upon the word of God. And this is God’s battle plan for you to heal and to stay healthy. And this is how you can receive your healing through His word.

Seizures Stop by Speaking the Word

I have been teaching you the power of the spoken word and encouraging you to write up a confession of faith for healing and to speak it out over you and your loved ones daily.

Well, I love the healing power of the Holy Spirit. Not only does it heal the physical body, but the life of the person is forever changed. As is the case with one of my regular readers of the daily devotional sent via email.

Karen and her husband have been believing for the healing of their son, Jon for many reasons. One desired healing was to be healed from daily seizures. Let’s look at some of the steps of faith they have put into practice.

  1. They are Christians.
  2. They believe in the healing power of the Holy Spirit.
  3. They have been praying and fasting as a family.
  4. Members in the Church they attend have been praying for Jon.
  5. They have asked the elders to anoint him with oil and pray for him.

They still were not seeing the desired changes. I suggested to Karen that she write up a confession of faith for healing and start declaring this over her son. They started doing this last Sunday and do know what has happened? The daily seizures have stopped for the glory of our Lord!

I am so blessed by this family and that they choose to put their faith in action for their son. That they are teachable and willing to work the Word of God.

Read Karen’s praise report. “I finally got this written up this past weekend, and  my husband and I pray it over Jonathan every night before he goes to bed, and I pray it every morning with Jon (he loves to cuddle up with me while I have my morning time with God, so I just read the Scriptures out loud to him).  I gave a copy to our prayer minister and also a copy to Jon’s children’s church director, who is a great woman of faith.  She prayed it over Jon in children’s church on Sunday.  The first part of the healing confession is Scriptures of healing and authority, that we claim, and the second part is detailed commands for specific spirits that need to leave and areas of his body that need healing.  Since we began praying and claiming this confession on Sunday night, Jon has not had ANY seizures, and we also are seeing the depression lifting.  Praise God!”

And read another report a couple days later, “Jon is continuing to prosper in all areas – he has his energy back, he is achieving tasks at school that they’ve been trying to teach him all year, he is giggling and smiling again, and he is starting to say words again, he has his appetite back.  (and I will add updates as healing continues to manifest).

Here is the confession of faith that they are speaking over their son daily:

“Heavenly Father, You have promised that Your Word will not return void, but it will accomplish what You desire, and it will succeed in the matter for which You sent it. (Is. 55)

So today, we stand on Your Word!  Your Word says,

Jesus took our diseases, and He carried our affliction…the chastening for our health fell on Him, and by His stripes, we are healed. (Is. 53)

The prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. (James 5)

Those who believe will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover! (Mk 16)

Jesus has been placed far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, Everything is in subjection under His feet. (Eph. 1)

The Son of God was manifested to destroy the works of the Devil. (I Jn 3)

If God is for us, who can be against us? He will graciously give us all things! We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us!  (Rom. 8)

Through God we will do valiantly, and He will trample under our feet our affliction. (Ps. 108)

So today, we declare an insurrection against the powers of darkness that have been keeping Jon down!

  • In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, we cast out the evil spirit of Epilepsy and it may never come back. Neurons must function normally without hyperexcitability.  Neuronal networks must function with the proper level of inhibition.
  • In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, we permanently cast out the evil spirit of Autism. Aggressive actions must leave. Stimming behaviors must leave. Sleep disorders must leave. Sensory processing disorder must leave now.
  • In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, we permanently cast out the evil mute spirit. The Broca’s area of Jonathan’s brain and other areas responsible for memory, word recall, and production of clear, articulate, and fluent speech are regenerated and made whole.
  • In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, we permanently cast out the evil spirit of depression that inhibits smiles, laughter, dancing, and an interest in the world.
  • In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Jonathan’s brain is being recreated to a normal size, and healed from the stigmata of Down Syndrome, and from damage caused by seizures and seizure meds, and from all damage caused by lack of oxygen at birth.  The lesion on his right temporal lobe, and the cluster of bright spots on his left frontal lobe are both healed. Cognitive disability is healed. Attention deficit is healed. Impulsivity is healed.
  • In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, all stigmata of Down Syndrome on Jonathan’s body is removed. Hypothyroid disease is healed. Muscle tone and flexibility are made normal. Nasal passages are made normal, and breathing is regular. Macrocytosis and any other bone marrow or blood cell disorder are healed now. Tongue and upper palate size are recreated to normal size.  Jon will grow until he attains normal height.
  • In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, kidneys, liver, and any other organs and blood cells in Jonathan’s body damaged by seizures and seizure meds are healed.
  • In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Jon’s digestive system is completely healed, and inflammatory bowel disease and chronic diarrhea is gone.
  • In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Jon has bladder and bowel control and is no longer incontinent.
  • In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, every cell and every strand of DNA and every part of Jonathan’s body from the top of his head to the soles of his feet are healed and completely normal.

Hallelujah!  Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!”

…………………………………………………………………………………..

Isn’t this an amazing testimony? Yes, they have more to believe for, but what an amazing start to Jon’s total healing and deliverance. No more seizures! This just blesses my heart. Learn to activate your faith today and see the needs of those you deeply care about change for the glory of our Lord.

There’s a Promise in God’s Word for You

Are you hurting and trying to process a recent tragedy? Are you in a raging battle against life and death? Maybe you are struggling to hold on to your marriage,  or you are in such financial trouble that you can’t see your way out of it, or you feel that you are at your wits end to know what to do with a wayward child. Regardless of the situation that you face today, there is a promise in God’s Word for you to help you through. Let’s look at a few of these promises today.

When you feel weak God’s Word says in 2 Corinthians 12: 9-10, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.  That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

When you feel afraid Joshua 1:9 tells us, Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Wherever you find yourself today God promises to be with you. And for this reason you can be brave and courageous that He will see you through.

While you pass through this difficult time He says, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. He doesn’t say you will not go through difficult times, but that when you do He gives His assurance that He will be with you.

If you are hurting from the pain of an oppressive relationship or situation take heart, Psalm 9:9-10 gives these words of comfort, The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.  Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”

For the pain of a wayward child you can put your trust for their return. “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6).

Oftentimes, like anyone else you might not know what you need to do. James 1:5 encourages us to ask Him for direction, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. Ask Him right now, “Father, I do not know what to do next. I need your help. I ask for the next step. Show me the way. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.”

God promises to provide for our daily needs. Philippians 4:19 promises us that,  “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Matthew 6:25-34,“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?  Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?  “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?  “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’  For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Jeremiah 30:17 you have His assurance for healing of your spirit, soul, and in your physical body. For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord.” Isaiah 53:4-5 reveals to us what Jesus would suffer so we could be healed. Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

Remember, no matter where you go, or what you are confronting Deuteronomy 31:8 let’s us know, And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

These are just a few of God’s promises for you, there are many more. Choose the one that you need and apply it to your situation today.

It’s Time to Pray

What do you do when life doesn’t make sense? Where do you turn when the pain is overwhelming? There is an answer to life’s hurt. Get down on your knees and pray to God. There is strength in prayer during turmoil.

God’s instructions are found in 2 Chronicles 7:14, If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.Let’s examine this verse for further insight.

  1. Are you called by God’s name? God loves all people, but that doesn’t automatically make us a member of His family.  Jesus speaks plainly in  John 3:3 when He says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God How do we become born-again, or members of His family? Romans 10:9-10 tells us how, “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. If you are not yet a member of God’s family then it is time to confess with your mouth that you believe in your heart that Jesus is risen from the dead.
  2. Let’s talk about humbling ourselves. Proverbs 22:4 tells us, “Humility is the fear of the Lord;
its wages are riches and honor and life.” In order to be humble we must first recognize who He is, and His ultimate supremacy over all. We must willingly take on this attitude from John 3:30, “He must become greater; I must become less.”
  3. God’s people are to pray. In fact, we are to pray without ceasing, (1 Thessalonians 5:17). And we are to be Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”
  4. We are to seek His face. We are to do as the Scriptures says, “Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. And as Hebrews 12:2 says, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
  5. Turn from our wickedness. 2 Corinthians 13:5 tells us, “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you–unless, of course, you fail the test?” After we examine ourselves then we are given these words to live by, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9). And there are promises of spiritual benefits that come from repentance. It says in Acts 3:19, Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”

And if we will do these things His promise to us is that He will hear our prayer, forgive our sin, and heal our land.  Come on people of God, it’s time to pray.

Find His Peace

Jesus’ words are clear, These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” See John 16:33. He speaks this way so that we can prepare for difficult times that will come to all of us.

Now, let’s be clear on one thing, God isn’t the author of difficult times, but because we live in a fallen world He gives us spiritual advice on how to overcome when we pass through these challenges.

First of all, He says, “In Me you may have peace.” And again in John 14:27 He reassures us with these words, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.Jesus offers us peace that is not of this world, in fact it is found outside of this world. It is found within the bounds of an intimate relationship with Him.

How can you enter into this peace with Him?

  1. The first step to having this peace is to be Born-Again. He says to Nicodemus in John 3:3, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.This man was a ruler of the Jews, a man of the Pharisees. he was a highly respected individual in his community, yet something was missing in his life. A relationship with religion cannot bring true joy or peace, this can only come from intimate fellowship with Jesus Christ. Without being born-again you cannot find God, you cannot enter into His ways either. His way is peace. And you can’t find His way through the world.
  2. Be baptized with the Holy Spirit, pray in tongues so that we can edify, build up our spiritual being. See 1 Corinthians 14:4.
  3. You can exchange your negative thoughts for His positive ones when you renew your mind with the Word of God. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. See Romans 12:2.
  4. Let’s take this a step further, He tells us to be of good cheer and not to let our heart be troubled or full of fear. How can we accomplish this? The main way is to choose what we think about. He says in Philippians 4:8, Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

When we honestly make an effort to do these things, He promises us in Philippians 4:9, The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

Disobedience and Sin Prevent Healing

But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all of His commandments and His statures which I command you today, that ll these curses will come upon you and overtake you (Deuteronomy 28:15).

Disobedience and sin are one and the same; they open the doors of our lives to their consequences–sickness, disease, and every other form of the curse.

Once we were out ministering in a Masai village, when a Christian woman came running over to ask us to come quickly to minister healing to her daughter who was dying from an asthma attack. When we arrived, we found her lying on the ground, gasping for breath. I rebuked a spirit of death and the asthma and released the Spirit of Life to flow through her. I wasn’t seeing the quickly results that were needed. Then I found a religious trinket in her hand and took it away from her; the attack stopped immediately and she began to breath normally again. With the help of an interpreter, I witnessed to her about Jesus Christ, but she refused to receive Him as Lord and Savior. Instead she picked up the trinket again, and the asthma attack immediately started up again in full force, just like when we first found her. She refused Jesus Christ and clung to a human-made religious image that could not hear or help her. She disobeyed the first commandment that says, “You shall have no other gods before Me” (Exod. 20:3).

Another time, David and I were ministering in a different village when we came across a little boy who could not walk. But once the trinkets from the witch doctor were removed, he was set free and could instantly walk.

The occult world in all forms is rebellion toward God, and we cannot mingle in witchcraft or satanic practices in any shape or form and believe for a miracle from God. It does not work. It matters not what culture we are from, we need to rid ourselves and our homes of all satanic and New Age books, movies, games jewelry, trinkets, statures, pictures, and / or similar items. Both black and white magic are of the same spirit–of satan–and they need to be renounced and removed immediately in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Learn to Speak Words that Heal

I have been teaching you the importance of your words, and in fact I have been giving instruction on how to activate the power of the spoken word in your life. The Bible teaches us in Proverbs 18:21,Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

I am going to give you a challenge today, actually a faith assignment. The purpose for this assignment is to build up or to strengthen your faith in God and His Word concerning healing –that God is willing and able to heal and to deliver all who come to Him and that He wants to use you for His kingdom purposes.

  1. Pray the following prayer:

Dear Holy Spirit,

I ask You for Your help in changing the way in which I speak. Help me to hear every negative and faithless word that comes out of my mouth, and teach me a new way to speak that would bring You glory and honor and cause Your power to be released over my life, I surrender my tongue to You this day.

In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

2. Listen to the words that you speak.

3. Today, with the help of the Holy Spirit, start to change your negative, faithless words to words of faith and power in Jesus Christ.

This sounds like a simple challenge, trust me when I tell you it is not easy, but it will change your life.

Watch this healing video and learn how to use the power of your words to recreate body parts.

Create an Atmosphere of Faith for Healing

In a village called Sonjo in Tanzania, where we held a healing conference, there was a teenage girl who had been deaf since birth. As I laid hands on her for healing, everyone gathered around, including the girl’s mother. This girl held her head down in shame and was uncooperative. I could literally sense unbelief around me. I ministered over her, but nothing happened, and I knew that it was the unbelief that surrounded her. I spoke with her mother and asked her to come to the meeting the next day. She agreed to come.

When it came time to lay hands on the sick, I came to this teenage girl again. I looked at my friends who were standing next to me, and told the one to keep the mother busy. I took the girl around the corner where no one was watching her. I quickly stuck my fingers in her ears and rebuked the deaf spirit to come out of her in Jesus’ name. Immediately, for the first time in her life, this young girl who was full of shame, could hear! Her smile said it all.

When the mother came around the corner, I presented her daughter to her. The mother stood there in complete amazement at what the Lord had done for her daughter. He not only delivered her from a spirit of deafness, but opened up her ears, and took away her shame.

This experience taught me that there are times when we need to minister to the person in private, without onlookers. We need to create an atmosphere that is full of faith for the person receiving the healing touch. Faith is very powerful, and so is doubt. Faith releases Healing, whereas doubt steals it. Even Jesus kicked out the gawkers, the unbelievers when He raised Jairus’ daughter from the dead, and so do we. See Luke 8: 40-56.

Be Fully Persuaded About Your Healing

In today’s faithless society you need to work through the doubt and unbelief that people try to force upon you. Like Abraham, you need to be fully persuaded about your healing, and you can be.

First of all, you need to cleanse yourself of all doubt and unbelief regarding whether or not it’s God’s will to heal you. And you can start to do this by renewing your mind with the Word of God about healing. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

When you read and study God’s promises for healing on a consistent basis it will transform doubt and unbelief to trust and belief in God’s Word. Some people will transform quicker than others, but if you will keep at it, and not give up satan’s negative thoughts will lose their control over your mind, and God’s promises will take over.

Secondly, you need to choose what you think about. Look what Philippians 4:8 has to say about this, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” You can choose to dwell on the world’s negative report, or you can choose to meditate upon the goodness of your Lord. Success or failure depends upon the choices you decide to make.

The third point to consider is this, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he”. See Proverbs 23:7. What we think about will eventually make its way into our spiritual hearts or spirits. If you think of yourself as being healed, dwell upon the healing promises as belonging to you, sooner or later you will be healed.

And this is a major key to being fully persuaded about your healing.

Seek and Find Your Healing

In Luke 5: 12-13, we read about a man who was not sure about healing. But he did something that many are not willing to do, he sought out the Healer.

It says, “And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”  Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately the leprosy left him.”

This man had a very contagious disease called, “Leprosy”. Even his identity was wrapped around it, he was known by the others as a leper. Think about this, his name is not recorded in this story for us to remember him by, only the hopeless label, “Leper”. And the public associated him with the characteristics of this dreadful disease. When they saw the leper, negative adjectives passed through their minds concerning him, such as, unclean, contagious, cursed, and deadly to be near.

Even the leper, himself, identifies with these painful labels. Back in these days, whenever someone would pass by, he had to pick up a rock and throw it at the person passing by and call out to the others about himself, “Unclean!” Imagine how hopeless he felt. The Bible clearly teaches us that, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” See Proverbs 23:7. It also tells us in Luke 6:45, For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

This man could see his body being eaten away from leprosy, and he could smell the rotting of the flesh as well. He could feel the utter pain and sting constantly.

I also believe he heard amazing testimonies about people who were being healed by a healer named, “Jesus”. But as long as he received his identity from the fearful reactions of others as they saw him, or from his 5 senses or human reasoning, he would forever remain a leper on this earth. Something radical would have to change for this man to be healed.

He obviously did not know how Jesus felt about all of this. But he did hear of these amazing miracles that were taking place, so when Jesus passed by he called out to Him, “Lord.” To acknowledge Jesus as Lord shows that this man was humble and respectful towards Jesus. Then he asks Him what he has been wanting an answer for, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”

He hears enough about Jesus that He knows that He is able to heal him, but when it comes to His willingness he was unsure. But he does the right thing and seeks out the Healer, and asks Him His will to heal. And because he seeks, he finds the answer, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately the leprosy left him.”

What are you waiting for? If you are unsure about healing, ask Him to reveal Himself as your healer. If you will do this, you will find Him and your healing. Jeremiah 29:13 says,You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” And when you seek the Healer, you find your healing too.
