Learning about Faith from others

We are learning about faith from others every day. If we will humble ourselves we will learn new things every day. When it comes to learning I purpose in my heart to learn something new about faith every day. One way to learn about faith is by observing it in the lives of others around us. And I literally confess this with the words of my own mouth. And as someone shares something I’ve not known, or not thought about it in that way before I confess aloud, “This is my new thing I’ve learned today.”

I am a strong advocate for the prophetic and healing power of our words. And I purposefully work this truth into my daily life. Look to those around you, and readily learn from them, both young and old, and everyone else in between. And begin to prophesy the life lessons about the faith truths they learned into your life situations.

I learn from the experience of my elders. I grew up as the baby of the family. So I naturally was surrounded by people that were older than myself. And I was raised in a rural community, and my extended family were my neighbors—practically everyone around me was a relative. I grew up listening and learning from their life experiences, both good and bad. And I witnessed how their faith in God carried them through to the victory or how their lack of faith in Jesus brought them to destruction.

But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. Titus 2: 1-5.

From the young children I discover powerful truths about what faith actually is—trust. Trusting in another’s faithfulness. Believing without question that they have our best interest at heart. And it’s this practical life example how we are to live out our faith in Christ—complete trust, not doubting His faithfulness, or that He has our best interest at heart.

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14.

And I observe and learn about what great faith is from the daily struggles and triumphs of others around me.

Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12.

Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, Titus 2:7.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16.

The more I learn about faith, the more I clearly see how much more there is to learn. But if we will determine within our own hearts to learn something new every day about faith, our faith will continue to grow. And in return for our learning about faith our faith in God will be observed by others to learn how to walk in daily victory by our faith in our Lord and Savior—Jesus Christ.

How to Maintain Peace in Our Lives

God tells us in His Word, “If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men,” Romans 12:18. In other words live as peacefully as possible with other people. This can be a challenge, especially if we have daily contact with very stressful people. Seriously how do we set out to accomplish such a goal? How do we stay at peace when our boss is unrealistic with his or her demands? Or our neighbor is so over-the-top emotionally speaking? Or our spouse or child is sick and suffering? How do we hold our peace when life around us is out of control? Let’s look to the Scriptures for realistic daily steps to put into practice in our everyday lives to maintain our peace.

1. One way to maintain our peace is to guard our hearts and minds. And Philippians 4:6-7 tells us how to guard them. It says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” We guard our hearts and minds by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving. While we remember to pray and supplicate, we often forget to do so with thanksgiving on our tongues. And forgetting to be thankful can lead us into whining and complaining, or even into the realm of fear, a stressful mode. While on the other hand being thankful is a positive attribute and it does add to our level of peace by focusing on the right things. Let’s look to step #2 to find out why it is important to have our hearts and minds filled with positive things.

2. “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things and the God of peace will be with you”, Philippians 4:8. Allowing our minds to wander into ungodly thoughts, and conversations zap our peace. Our souls, minds and emotions get bent-out-of shape. These ungodly thoughts and conversations create an atmosphere that is uninviting for the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, to inhabit. Knowing this we all ought to guard our thoughts and conversations with all sincerity and focus on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy. If we will do this the God of peace will be with us.

Peace is important to our everyday lives. And God desires us to have His peace, spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically too. And since He provides us with these keys to maintaining our peace, then He obviously holds us responsible to guard our hearts and minds by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving on our minds and tongues. And even tells us what to think about so we can maintain our level of peace.

And let’s end today’s message of peace with these Words of Jesus from John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.“

Help to Overcome Chronic Anxiety and Depression

Chronic anxiety and depression are running rampant among people today, even throughout the Church. One of my readers wrote me with the following request, “Becky, I need help for healing from chronic anxiety and depression.” I ask you now, you who hold this book in your hand, “Is this request too difficult for God?” You answer in your heart, “No.” Then let me ask you another question, “Is chronic anxiety and depression too difficult for the Christian to overcome?” Many struggle with this type of inner healing, but I remind you again, “With God…” not in your own strength, but with Him, all things are possible, even this situation is possible to triumph over.

And just how do you win over this type of attack of destruction? You win with God and with the power of the spoken word.

In Jesus’ name, that’s correct, with our God, Jesus Christ, with the power of His name, you use the authority of your words and verbally renounce the spirit of fear and depression. Again, with your vocal chords you command these evil spirits out and off of you. You decree with your voice a radical turn around in the way you see and hear things, the way you respond to others and even to the past. Use this Scripture, “For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord” (Jeremiah 30:17).

The Stamina of Your Faith

These past 2 weeks have been a whirlwind of activity—all good, but physically demanding. Let me explain, and share. Two weekends ago I was ministering in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. I poured my heart out with the healing word and witnessed wonderful healings and miracles. I arrived home on Monday afternoon a little bit tired physically.

Thursday morning I find myself back on the plane, but this time to Guatemala to go and pick up our 20 year old son, Jorge and bring him back the States to live with us here. That evening our arrival had been delayed due to weather. We were unable to land in Guatemala because of an electrical storm. They flew around the City waiting for approval to land, but we were not able to because of the lighting. So needing to fuel the plane they announced we would be flying next door to Belize, but the airport there was also closed down due to the same weather issues. They wanted to land in El Salvador but because of the surrounding weather they already had 9 planes waiting for the okay to take off to these other countries. And so we were not able to land there either. So we ended up in Honduras, the airport had already closed for the evening, but we were able to land there to fuel the jet. The process probably took about 2 hours because it was after hours. Afterwards we were able to fly into Guatemala City at about midnight. And despite the delays, I had a wonderful time visiting our other two adopted sons and their families who are managing out children’s home in Guatemala, and spend a little time with the children in the home, along with ministering to a group of students in a discipleship program and a healing service at a local Church. Then Monday morning Jorge and I make the journey back to the USA, again landing about midnight and arriving home at 1:00 in the morning.

I was thinking I had that day to sleep in and rest, but to my surprise the house that we were moving into was ready for us to move in that day. And so for the past few days I have been unpacking our belongings and trying to put our new home in order. Physically I am tired, and with good reason, but even in the midst of this whirlwind of activity I find that there is great stamina in having faith in God.

And this is what I want to focus on now with you. Be encouraged that when life is moving faster than you expect, and is physically demanding, and it takes everything within you to finish the task put before you, know that when you feel physically weak, He is not. And you can rely on His strength to carry you through.

Perhaps, you are fighting a battle with sickness and disease and you feel like you can’t continue on, I am here to tell you that you can. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. (See Philippians 4:13.)

And maybe you are struggling to find the physical strength to carry-on I can’t encourage you enough to call out to God and thank Him by faith that when you feel weak, He is strong. (See 2 Corinthians 12:10)

And when the unexpected events of life happen hold your peace, rest in Him because He truly is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (See Hebrews 13:8.) He is faithful. (See 1 Corinthians 1:9.) He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. (See John 14:6.) When He promises to uphold you with His righteous right hand—He will. (See Isaiah 41:10.)

Regardless of all the demands placed upon your faith-walk you will find that there is great stamina, relentless staying power in your faith in Christ.

Say What You Have? Or Say What You Need?

Do you say what you have? Or do you say what you need? This is the topic of discussion for today.

Knowing that our words have the power of life and death in them we need to take what we say very seriously. But most people don’t consider what they say and just blurt whatever comes to mind. This thoughtless blurting causes great harm, not only to ourselves, but also to others.

If we continue to say to our spouse, “You never listen to me.” Guess what? Eventually they will stop listening to us. If we say, “God never hears me when I pray.” He too will not respond to us when we pray. Why? Because our words possess the power of life and death in them. And this includes relationships as well as the human body. We either speak life or we speak death to those relationships. The correct way to speak to your spouse in this situation is to say something like, “I need to speak with you. It’s important. I need you to pay attention and actually hear what I have to say.” When it comes to God, thank Him for His loving care and for listening to your prayer.

When dealing with a sick body the same principle applies. If you continue to say that you are sick, in pain, and worn out your body will obey your words and produce ill symptoms in your body. Instead you ought to change the way you speak over yourself and say what you have need of is already done, accomplished by faith instead of what you have, or don’t have. Romans 4:17 says it this way, “(as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.” This form of speech may sound radical, and it is. It’s faith talk. It’s how God speaks, He creates the need or desired affect by speaking it into existence. And this is how He expects us to speak, like Him, by faith.

How does this look in real life? Someone receives a medical death report. The tests show that there is a cancerous tumor on the pancreas. They are told it is inoperable. There isn’t anything they can do for the individual. They are instructed to go home and put their affairs in order, prepare to die. This report is difficult to hear. But as Christians, how can we respond to such death reports?

If we want to fight to live then we have to get a handle on the power of words being spoken over us, and by us. For example with the above situation. “I am a Christian. I believe in the healing power of Jesus. And I cannot and will not receive this report.” And hold your ground, because people that do not know the Word concerning the healing promises of God will not understand your stance. And that’s okay. What matters is what you believe. And will you activate your faith and speak words that will produce what you have need of, instead of what you presently have.

How do you do this? Start by using the power of death in your words and curse the cancer, and that deadly tumor it has produced in your body. And then use the power of life on your tongue and speak words that produce life, healing and strength in the name of Jesus. If you will hold up your shield of faith and speak as God does into the matter your healing will manifest.

The example given above is a true story, and they did as instructed and they received their manifestation of their healing by using the power of life and death in their words. They spoke the desired result–healing into existence.

Prepare, the End is Near

The Lord God would say to you this day; “Prepare, for the time is near.

Prepare your hearts, judge your own and make sure it is right with Me.

If you have anything against another forgive them and do what you can to make it right.

Stay close to Me in My Word, and read it, study it, and live it like you believe in Me.

Remain in intimate fellowship with Me. Now is not the time to wander off into the wilderness of the world and its ways. Now is the time to stay in My presence, refresh your weary souls, and dust off the unbelief of those around you.

As you can physically see the spiritual condition of the people is wearing down. Disassociate yourself from those that are false and spiritually dirty. Stay in fellowship with those that do believe.

Be willing to take a stand for Me and My ways in these last days. Be not afraid, for I will be with you until the ends of the earth, and beyond.

Recognize that there are differences that you will not work out while on this earth, but ask yourselves, “Do we believe the basic and most important things pertaining to eternal life, and life in abundance while on this earth?” And focus your efforts on these. You have heard it said, “No man is an island unto himself.” I say, “You need one another.”

Learn to look out for one another. The Spirit will show you how. Just be a willing vessel for the light of My love to shine through you. And shine through you it will. If you will allow My Spirit to shine through you they will see the light of Me in you.

Be prepared to give an answer for what you believe and why you believe. Many are lost, and are walking day to day without hope. But within you is the Spirit of Hope—Me. Allow your light to shine in such a way that it brings glory to Me and not to yourself. If I be lifted up, I will draw all men onto Myself.

Step out of the entertainment mode and worship Me in spirit and in truth. True worship breaks the yoke of bondage and readies them to receive the Word with life-changing power.

Begin to see yourself as I see you—born-again, born from above, redeemed, forgiven, and loved, Be bold and do not hold back, speak up, tell them the truth, tell them in love right from wrong. Don’t compromise, take a stand for the end is truly at hand.

Prepare yourselves, for the end is near, and I am coming quickly.

Thus saith the Lord your God.

Healing Prayer for a Stubborn Mountainous Disease

Are you fighting a battle with a stubborn mountainous disease that doesn’t appear to go away? Let’s talk about this today, using the example from one of my readers, and share a healing prayer to bring this mountain down.

But before this let us first talk about mountains in the natural realm of things. The online Merriam Webster Dictionary definition of a mountain is , “A landmass that projects conspicuously above its surroundings and is higher than a hill.”.

If you do a study of geology you will find that mountains are constantly changing, yet these changes often go unnoticed by the naked eye, but nevertheless they are changing. And one of the elements that erodes or causes change to a mountain is the power of water such as; a river or a flood. And this makes me think about the mountains, (the problems like mountainous diseases) in our lives, especially the stubborn ones.

Okay, so spiritually speaking we say the stubborn sickness is the mountain, but what would be the eroding power to bring this mountain down? Faith. Faith activated in the right way with the Word of God will cause this sickness or disease to erode, to lose its strength and cause it to crumble, and to wash it away.

Ephesians 5:26, refers to the cleansing power of the Word of God, like water. “to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,“

As we continue to activate the following on a continual basis, like a flowing river we will see that stubborn mountain come down in our lives.

Activate Faith.
When we pray, pray in faith, believing in the promises of God, and in the God Who promised.
Add the Scriptures of faith and healing to our prayers.
Declare healing as if it were already completed, this is faith-talk. This is the way God speaks.
Pray in tongues to edify, to build ourselves up in the faith.
Find ways to put our faith into action.

A reader writes, “Becky, I have been dealing with physical challenges for the past ten or so years. I have tried to stay in the word through out all the attacks. When one symptoms lessens another comes. I have been to numerous doctors and been issued a multitude of conditions. I have renounced them. On days, like today, when pain attacks it is harder to fight. I listen to healing cds and scriptures. I am not sure how to proceed. This last attack of condition has been going on almost a year now. I do not give voice to the symptoms. I have been prayed for on several occasions. Any words of advise would be deeply appreciated. Thank you”

I first respond with a prayer of faith. “In the name of Jesus’ I renounce a familiar spirit, a spirit of infirmity, and a spirit of death (premature death) that have latched onto you. I curse this curse of this sickness over you. You have been delivered from this curse because Jesus, Himself became the curse for you so you can be free from it in His mighty name.

I release the healing power of Holy Spirit to flow in and throughout your entire being. I command your spine and nervous system to be realigned, healed, recreated if need be. I speak to your immune system to be healed and made whole and to heal your body, not drop it’s defenses or attack itself either. I speak into your cellular realm and I speak recreation of every cell from their very center to the outside of them. I speak to your blood to be washed and made whole, in fact your entire body be cleansed by the redemptive blood of Jesus.

I renounce the spirit of fear that has risen against you in this battle. I renounce the lies of the enemy that the blood of Jesus is inferior to this situation, because the Word tells us that every knee shall bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord, including demonic forces and negative medical results.

I decree a separation between you and these evil spirits and the sickness and disease that they carry and deposit into people. No more will we tolerate such an attack. I once read, “The devil trembles when he sees the weakest child upon his knees.” Sister, continue to pray in the Holy Spirit–tongues. Don’t give up. And find whatever way you can to act healed in Jesus’ name too, because faith always demands action.

This woman responds, “I have stopped using my cane, and I do not take any pain medications.”

I respond to her message, “This is a wonderful step of faith!”

I then ask her, “What is it that you are fighting against? Please just give a short response.”

She responds with, “Osetitis pubis, pelvic and groin pain, and right side facial pain.”

I then reply to her, “Okay, lay your hand on those areas. And right now I speak to the nerves, and to the nervous system to be recreated in Jesus’ name. Also, the vertebra and the discs to be recreated and realigned, and they move properly. The discs have the right amount of liquid in them. The vertebra are smooth, no bone spurs, or abnormalities of any kind. I declare that none of these body parts are worn down, but recreated in the name of Jesus’, amen.”

Now, she might have to fight against this mountain, but if she will choose to continually speak faith and healing to this stubborn mountainous disease in her body she will see it begin to crumble and eventually fall down completely for the glory of God.

How Do I Deal With a Principality?

“How do I deal with a principality? I have been living in terror since a horrific encounter the other night? Please advise. Thank you so much.” I received this request the other day from one of my readers. And I should add that this reader and her request is not unique. Many Christians in these last days are confronting attacks from demon spirits. How should we fight to overcome a battle such as this one?

First of all, know who your enemy is and what kind of battle you are in. Ephesians 6:12 reveals who and what we are battling against. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.“

2 Timothy 1:7 tells us what the Lord has given to us, and what He has not given to us. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.“ According to this Scripture fear is a spirit, and it does not come from God. And God gives us 3 things in this verse to overcome a spirit of fear. One supernatural weapon He gives to us is power, not human power, but God’s power. Zechariah 4:6 says it this way, “Not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” He also gave us the supernatural weapon of love, again not human love, but His love (Himself). And His love is the fuel for our faith. And then He gives us a sound mind, the very thing the enemy is trying to take away from us, the power of a sound mind. How do we hold onto the power of a sound mind? By reading and studying the Word of God. This Word is living and all powerful, and it is how Jesus overcame satan while He was being tempted in the wilderness. No matter what temptation the devil tried to throw at Him, Jesus responded with the Word of God. The Bible tells us that if we will first submit ourselves to God, resist the devil, then he will flee from us. (See James 4:7.)

11 Steps to Take When Dealing With a Principality:

1. Remind the principality who you are in Christ. If you don’t know then you need to learn who you are in Christ, Who He is in you.

2. And with your true identity in Christ take the authority that Jesus gave to you over satan and all of his wicked works.
3. Plead the power of the Blood of Jesus over your home and yourself.
4. Repent if you have opened any doors for the enemy to walk in such as; horror movies and books, demonic music, unforgiveness and the like.
5. Pray in tongues and don’t stop until you sense a breakthrough in the supernatural realm.
6. Play worship music 24/7 in your home.
7. Play an audible Bible 24/7 in your home.
8. Command in the name of Jesus these evil spirits to leave your home.
9. Anoint all the doors and windows in your home, and every room with oil in the name of Jesus.
10. Take communion daily in your home.

11. If you need to invite people of strong faith into your home and do a walk through and pray in faith together.

Again, as a reminder God’s Word assures us that if we will first submit to God, resist the devil, then he will flee from you. James 4:7.

Healing Prayer for Cancer

A reader writes requesting prayer for her sister who had just been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. This is the prayer I prayed for her and know it would be very helpful for many other people suffering from this vicious attack from the enemy.

In the name of Jesus’ I renounce this vicious spirit of death and cancer attacking your sister. I curse EVERY cancerous cell and tumor at the very center of its seed and command it to dry up at the roots and detach itself from the body completely and be eliminated from her body. I decree a separation between her and this spirit of death and this cancer. I release the dunumus power of the Holy Spirit into her body, into every, cell, tissue, organ and system, and this explosive life-giving power overtake her being and the life of the Holy Spirit over-powers all cancer in her. I declare by faith the promise of the Lord in Isaiah 53:4-5 that by the healing whips of Jesus she IS healed, she IS made whole for the glory of the Lord, amen and amen.

**Remember, that our words have the power of life and death in them (see Proverbs 18:21) and ONLY speak life, health, healing, and deliverance over her. Call those things that are not as though they ready were (see Romans 4:17).
