Why and How Do We Help?

We can clearly see that this world is a mess. And it’s only going to get worse, but does this mean we do nothing? No, the biblical response to the end time’s crisis is just the opposite. Let’s build ourselves up in the Scriptures and see why and how do we help.

Second Corinthians 5:20 states that we are ambassadors of Christ. As ambassadors we represent Yeshua, we speak His language, and we do what He does. And as His representatives on this earth we must be about our heavenly Father’s business and seriously win souls. The time to win the lost is running out, and we are told to work while there is still daylight, because darkness is coming upon us. And He who wins souls is wise. Let’s be wise and shine our light in the darkness for the glory of the Lord. (See John 9:4, Proverbs 11:30, Matthew 5:14-16.)

We need to be willing to step out of our comfort zone, and be strong and of good courage; not be afraid, nor be dismayed, knowing that our Lord is with us wherever we go. (See Joshua 1:9.)

We need to stop being self-centered, and love our neighbors as ourselves. (See 1 Corinthians 13:5-7, Mark 12:31.) We need to repent from this “Selfie-Society”, stop worshiping the flesh, and putting ourselves up on a pedestal, and get back to worshiping God, love Him with all our hearts and reach out in love to those around us. 

We are to lead people to Jesus, and not to ourselves, and certainly not to our ministries, but to Jesus. We are imperfect humans and we will let people down and ministries will disappoint us as well. Jesus Christ is the only One that can take their brokenness and make them whole again. John 3:3 makes it plain, “Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” It’s God and His kingdom they need to enter into , not ours’. 

Matthew 10:28 tells us that we are not to fear what the enemy threatens to do to us. Romans 8:38-39 says, For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

We need to remember that when we speak, we are to speak the truth in love. (See Ephesians 4:15.) The world needs Christians to rise up in love and tell them the truth–no matter what. They also need Christians to live like they actually believe that Jesus is real, and that He’s coming back soon! (See 2 Corinthians 5:7-17.) Spineless religious people lead people to hell!

It’s time for us to do as James teaches us in James 2: 17, 20, and in verse 26, and put action behind our faith-filled words. And remember that faith without works is dead! 

I realize times are tough, the enemy is trying hard to intimidate us, but despite all of this we are told in First Timothy 6:12 to “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”

On a practical note, we need to begin to smile again, show ourselves friendly. (See Proverbs 15:13, 30.) Let’s not be shy around people, but boldly tell them Jesus is real, and He loves them very much. And I would like to end this word of encouragement with these words from the Great Commission, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

I pray that this word of encouragement has strengthened your faith as to why and how do we help those around us.

A Spirit of Fear Leads to a Spirit of Death

A spirit of fear leads to a spirit of death, like the young man in this testimony. A young man became very ill and was in a lot of pain. It was soon discovered that he had a cancerous tumor on his pancreas. He shared with me what happened to him when the doctors came into his hospital room to give him the bad report. He said that as he heard the death report, he could not speak. It was as if he had swallowed poison. What did he really swallow? He swallowed fear–more precisely a spirit of fear. He accepted this death report and a spirit of death entered into his spirit and immediately began to meditate and speak about death–his death.

It took others to speak words of hope and healing into his life in order for his faith to be encouraged to the point that he accepted the words of faith and started to speak them for himself. And once he started to speak faith-filled words of healing, health, and life, his miracle manifested and the cancerous tumor disappeared, and it never came back.

It is of extreme importance that we protect ourselves from the spirit of death and refuse to accept its venomous poison–the spirit of fear.

Isaiah 41:10 (AMP) encourages us with these words: “‘Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].”

Four Scriptural Measures to Overcome Fear

1. Set your thoughts on godly matters, instead of earthly ones. Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God writes to us in Colossians 3:2, instructing us to Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” Refuse to dwell on the negative reports and force your mind and emotions to focus on the promises of God. It may seem like false faith in the beginning, but you have to take this first initial step to transform fear into faith.

2. Give your worries to God. Peter, another apostle of Jesus Christ, in First Peter 5:7 encourages us with these words, “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” Ponder upon God’s Word that He truly does love and care for you. And that He will faithfully see you through the situation.

3. Pray in tongues and encourage yourself. Again, the apostle Paul teaches us in First Corinthians 14:4 (NIV): “Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves…” When fear tries to overwhelm you, start to pray in tongues. Encourage yourself throughout the day and night by praying in your heavenly language–it works.

4. Choose to think upon the positive promises of God. Paul, also referred to as a bond-servant of Jesus Christ, writes to us in Philippians 4:8 (NIV): Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Choose what you think. If it doesn’t align itself to the message of this verse, toss it out of your mind.

Conquering the Spirit of Death in the NICU Ward

One of the victims of the spirit of death is the vulnerable, those that can’t fight the good fight of faith on their own, and such is the case in the NICU ward. But Terri, a woman of faith, my friend, and one of my intercessors stood in the gap for one of these precious and vulnerable babies the other week with great results. Let’s read and see just how she conquered this spirit of death on behalf of this little baby.

Terri writes, “God has called me to minister in our local hospital, by cuddling the babies in the NICU ward. Recently, I had 2 consecutive nights scheduled. The following day an email was sent out to the volunteers for that night. I was taking my granddaughter to an event that day and hesitated to respond.  I kept checking to see if anyone had responded, but no one had. It was late afternoon when I took my granddaughter home and there was still no response, so I responded that I would go in that night.

The previous night I was given a 3 day old baby who was fitfully crying. I prayed, “Oh Lord, please help me. “ We are not told the history of these babies, but the nurse shared she was 3 days old, unable to keep formula down, and they were thinking of transporting her to another hospital. This baby girl had an IV running and was mad! The nurse placed her in my arms with a pacifier, and asked if I was okay and left, and said to call if I needed help.

This precious, sweet baby screamed while arching her back. As I always do, I called on Jesus, “Please Lord, let this baby feel Your hands and Your heart.  Let me get out of the way.  And I prayed in my natural and in my spiritual language. Very soon the cries subsided and she relaxed with a cry coming just once in a while. I said, “Thank You, Jesus for the peace for this baby.” I held her for 2 and a half to three hours until it was time for me to leave. Again I prayed, “Oh Lord, let her continue to feel You.” I went in the next night and was assigned to hold that same baby. I was expecting the same situation as the previous night, but when I got to the room this precious little girl was quiet, and she had no IV. The nurse gave me a brief report and said she was even keeping her formula down. I began to cry as I was telling her God had answered my prayers, and she agreed! And I held a very content little baby that night as I continued to pray into her spirit.”

While listening to Terri share this testimony with me, I asked her the following question, “Terri, how would you say that the teachings from my books about our words and standing in faith helped you to conquer the spirit of death over this child?”

She responds, “Standing in faith is believing God at His word. Seeing His work is such a faith builder. To experience the power of our words which are so important– it’s testimony in itself. Our words do make a difference and we should choose life-giving words. Renounce every morbid, and negative word spoken over these children, even your own negative thoughts.”

I ask, “Terri, how do you speak to these babies when they are suffering with pain?”

She answers, “All I am allowed to do is hold the babies. I’m not told much about the babies for reasons of  confidentiality. When I am holding an “angry” baby that’s arching their back, my voice doesn’t change per say, as I want the babies to hear a soft, but confident voice. But I put emphasis on the words that declare life. [Gotta tell you the tears fall!] I pray positively into their spirit, taking authority in Jesus’ name is what we are to do and then we  are to expect Him to manifest. God is faithful.

As I continue to listen to Terri share with me her story, she says, “The nurses have been very open to me walking the unit praying before I go to my assignment. God prepares the hearts.” So I ask her, “Did you ask the nurses for permission to pray? Or did you just tell them that’s what you are doing?” And she responds, Actually, I just told them and they didn’t say no.”

She adds, “I am so humbled and overwhelmed with the goodness of God. I have never had prayers answered so quickly. Talk about a faith builder. Becky, you said to  anoint the babies with prayer, and as I was coming home the other night Holy Spirit said before I get to my assignment, that I am to touch and pray over each doorway while I walk the unit, as I cannot go into these other rooms. He has led me every step of the way. I have never felt so blessed!”

Praying the Hidden Things of God into Being

Learn to release the hidden things of God with every word that you speak. Allow His power to flow from your tongue, as you pray in the Spirit. First Corinthians 14:2 tells us that when we pray in the Spirit we speak mysteries. And this portion of Scripture describes these mysteries for us. “For he who speaks in an unknown tongue does not speak to men, but to God. For no one understands him, although in the spirit, he speaks mysteries.” This word mysteries (Strong’s G3466 – mystērion) means hidden things. When you speak in tongues you speak into existence the hidden or secret things God has planned for you, or the hidden things you have need of in any given situation, or to those you are ministering to. I have seen this principle work time and time again in my life and ministry.

I, like Paul pray in the Spirit (tongues). And I pray more in my supernatural prayer language, than in my earthly language, and I pray often in tongues. See 1 Corinthians 14:18. I have seen how this God-given gift to His followers is so powerful, especially for the day and the hour in which we live. I can’t encourage my fellow believers enough to learn how to pray in the Spirit. And pray often in tongues. Use this supernatural language to bring the miraculous about into your situation.

Sometimes I pray for hours at a time in the Spirit while walking out under the stars. Other times, my prayer in supernatural languages is just a quick release. My husband, and other people that travel with me tell me that I pray in tongues while I am sleeping. How can this be? We need to understand that we do not pray in tongues using our mind, but it comes from deep within us, from our spirit wielded to His Spirit. And I tell you it is so powerful. This is why the enemy fights against this teaching, because He knows its power, and that Jesus promised to send us this prayer language when the Holy Spirit would ascend upon us.

I run into all kinds of situations, especially in the healing ministry that in the natural I have no way of knowing how to pray for. Let me share a few different types of situations with you. I am walking down a pathway to a woman’s house in a village. This woman had been bedridden for many years and her body was so twisted. And the pastor and the elders brought me to her home expecting a miracle. When I saw this woman totally twisted from the neck down I didn’t even know how to pray. But that’s okay. I had been praying under my breath in the Spirit as we were walking down the pathway to her home. When I saw her I asked the Lord what do I do? And because I had been prayed up in the Spirit, all fear and intimidation was removed from me, my faith was built-up to believe, and the hidden things that would release the woman from this bondage of satan and ultimately heal her had been revealed to my spirit. I clearly heard the Lord respond to me, “Speak life to dead bones.” And when I heard His instructions about what I needed to do. My spirit responded, “Oh, I can do this.” And I did and the woman’s body unraveled and she was delivered and healed.

My husband and I were driving in Guatemala City and the car was acting up. My husband was trying to figure out what it might be. I prayed a quick prayer in tongues, and I heard the name of a car part. I asked my husband if this was a car part, and might it be the problem. And it was exactly what was wrong with the car.

I was flying in a plane, and just praying in my supernatural language under my breath, and I saw flash before my eyes a young man that used to attend the same church as we did before we moved to the mission field. Now, I had not seen this man in years, but his face clearly appeared before me. And so I prayed in the Spirit for him. And wouldn’t you know at that night’s service that young man was there. I was taken back a bit and I knew that I knew the Lord had revealed hidden things to me to pray into his life, via the power of praying in tongues.

I share these brief, but amazing testimonies with you about the power of praying the hidden things of God into being by the power of praying in tongues to encourage your faith to do the same.

Can You Talk Yourself to Death?

It might sound humorous, but can you talk yourself to death? It’s an interesting question to look at, especially when this cliché has been around for many years, “You’re going to talk yourself to death”.  And since clichés have been around for many years, most have grown up with them and automatically use them without ever giving thought to what they are actually saying.  But it is time to take a look at this old saying and hold it up to the light of God’s Word.

What does the Bible have to say about the way you speak and about your life in general? Let’s look at the following scripture and read for ourselves. We’ll start with Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” What did the Bible just say? There’s the power of what in our tongues? Life and death. I don’t know about you, but this sounds kind of serious to me. And to think that the tongue (our spoken language) has power to produce anything is a bit mind-boggling. But if the Holy Bible says it, then I believe it. After all it is our standard to live by, it is the infallible word of God.

And the second part of the verse has this to say, “and those who love it will eat its fruit.” I guess the next question to ask ourselves is “What type of fruit are we going to indulge upon?” Poisonous fruit or life-giving fruit. Holy Spirit is always visual with me, and as I write this last question I envision a large wooden bowl of fruit set on the table before me, some of it is poisonous, and the other fruit is full of life. It’s pretty obvious which fruit I would take and eat of–life-giving, of coarse.

So too it is with our words. And our precious Holy Spirit has set before us a beautiful bowl of powerful fruit to partake of everyday–spoken words. Some will harm us if not used properly, others will heal us in spirit, soul, and in our physical body as well. And we get to choose which fruit we will dine upon today.

And this leads us back to the original question, “Can you talk yourself to death?” According to God’s word, Yes, one can.

Words Can Dramatically Alter Lives

“I stand in awe many times over as I witness the prophetic healing power of the Spirit change and rearrange the lives of God’s people forever. A simple command of faith, “In Jesus’ name, I command this cancerous tumor to shrivel up and die,” and by morning the large tumor is gone and a woman’s life is dramatically altered.” Quote taken from Chapter 1, page 7, The Prophetic and Healing Power of Your Words.

I believe the Word of God when it says, “As Jesus is so are we on this earth.” See 1 John 4:17. Jesus was a man filled with faith when He walked this earth in the human form. And everything He did while here He did as we would do. He did not cheat. He did not call upon His God-powers in heaven. He left them there and came to show us how to live by faith according to the Father’s ways.

Take time to ponder upon this thought for a moment, “As Jesus is so are we on this earth.” What an amazing word from God! We are to emulate Him, act like Him, love like Him, and even speak like Him. And just how does He speak? With authority.  He was not passive with His words. He always spoke with a purpose. His words cut to the heart of the matter. He rebuked the religious, was compassionate with the hurting, He put satan and his demons in their place every time, and since His childhood on this earth was speaking in the realm of the prophetic.

He has a way with His words that dramatically alters the lives of those He comes into contact with, and so should we. We are to be like Him, and use this gift, the power of the spoken word and prophesy healing to all those in need in our arena of influence. Romans 4:17 teaches us to “call those things that are not as though they already were”, this is prophesying. And it is not as mysterious as one might think. We do it all the time, every time we open up our mouths we prophesy either life or death, see Proverbs 18:21.

With all of this in mind, perhaps we should learn to use this supernatural power, the gift of the spoken language in such a way that we create a change, alter the destiny of the lives of those around us for the glory of God. Learn how to surrender our words to Him, allow Holy Spirit to play a vibrant melody on the strings of our vocal chords.

Praying People Out of a Fiery Pit

Hell is an actual place-an eternal land of inconceivable loneliness, suffering and torment. It is reserved for those who refuse to receive Jesus as their Savior.  And God does not desire for anyone to spend their eternity there, but He allows us the choice of a free will. Where will we choose to spend our eternity? And the closer we are to the Lord’s return the harder the enemy is at war against people to keep them from the loving arms of our Heavenly Father and an eternity in Heaven with our Savior. The demonic forces are out in full force to lead people astray from the truth that will set them free and into a living hell on this earth full of filthy bondage.

This week my husband and I and our ministry partner and family friend, Palma were called upon to make an emergency house call to a brother in the Lord that has opened himself up to the suffering and torment of satan and his demons. He got caught up in the sin of pornography, that has led him to utter bondage and misery. He’s been in a demonic state of mind, emotionally and physically. His wife and family have been fighting for his life as this demon has declared it will not leave until he and his family are destroyed. The man is not himself anymore. He has become possessed and violent towards his wife, and screaming lies at her, blaming her for his sinful choices. It has had the man at the point of death, collapsing to the ground barely able to breathe. He has been taken to the hospital numerous times over the past week, and the doctors are unable to help him. Why? Because even though this attack is manifesting in the natural realm and harming him physically the problem is spiritual and has to be dealt with spiritually.

We are called to go and minister reconciliation over him. We arrive, find him laying on his bed as if he were dead, lay our healing hands upon him and immediately while unresponsive to normal interaction with other people his fists clinch tightly around his covers. We continue to pray in the Spirit (in tongues) and the demon within him awakens and starts to violently scream at his wife. I shield his wife and exit her out of the room. We continue to pray in our supernatural languages, and the man is now standing unaware of what is going on leaning upon my husband. The demon is very angry, but we just keep on praying in tongues. And then comes the breakthrough this man is in need of–deliverance through repentance.

 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 1 Corinthians 5: 16-21.

We lead the man in a prayer of repentance to God, to asking his wife to forgive him, even though the man is physically weak, he is at peace, he is calm. We lay him down on his bed, he sleeps. Later on that evening he calls my husband for further counsel and prayer.

“For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!” Romans 5:10.

While we were praying in the Spirit the Lord showed me a vision of what was taking place during this time of deliverance. I was shown a pit of fire, the flames were very large and hot. As we continued to minister over the man by praying in tongues I saw hands reach down into the fiery pit of Hell and lift this man by the scruff of his neck out of the flames.

Use the gift of tongues that the Lord has so richly given to His people and pray your loved ones out of the fiery pit of Hell.

Deliverance From a Spirit of Addiction

Addiction is real, it’s like a giant size wrecking ball destroying individuals, marriages, families, businesses, ministries, communities, cities, and even nations. It’s wrecking havoc in the lives of people throughout this entire earth,  including the body of Christ. We can see the suffering it causes within the soul, (the mind and emotions), and in the physical realm. But what the world, and oftentimes the Church refuses to address is the root of the problem, the spirit. And until the spiritual aspect of this widespread epidemic is attended to people will continue to be enslaved to the addiction and it’s destructive behaviors and results.

Addiction is more than spiritual, it’s an evil spirit–a demon that has taken control of the mind and the emotions and works it’s evil into the physical realm of the individual and all those that they come into contact with. But even though, humanly speaking, the situation looks impossible, it is not. There is hope–His name is Jesus Christ, and with  Him all things are possible, including freedom from addiction.

To be free from addiction one needs to be delivered in the name of Jesus and by the power of His blood. Why does one need to be delivered in the name of Jesus? Because according to God’s Word, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father,” Philippians 2:10-11. And when we have the revelation that addiction is a demon, our faith can arise to the occasion and take our God-given authority in the name that is above every name and demand this evil spirit out of ourselves, and/or loved ones. 

Also, to be free from addiction one needs to be delivered by the power of the blood of Jesus. Why? According to Isaiah 53:4-5 Jesus was whipped and shed His blood so we could be healed in spirit, soul, and in body. When we spend the time and rightly divide the Word, we can determine that the translations of Isaiah 53:4-5 is holistic. That the atonement, the redemptive blood of Jesus, does in fact provide spiritual, emotional, and physical healing. (For a greater understanding see chapter 2, pages 33-41, in The Healing Creed.) This includes deliverance from demonic forces that come to steal, to kill, and to destroy us, see John 10:10.

Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:4-5.

 

Deliverance from addictions come in all forms. It depends upon the strength and familiarity of the demon. In other words, how long has the person been walking hand-in-hand with this demon? And how far into the darkness of sinful behavior has this person willingly gone with this evil spirit?

Sometimes all it takes is a prayer of repentance and the person is free from demonic behavior, because it’s just that–ungodly behavior. But other times the demon does not want to let go of the person, because it inhabits, possesses the individual, and it’s not going to leave it’s abode without a spiritual fight.

Now you notice I said a “spiritual fight”. You cannot force a demon out of someone with physical force or physical means, it’s a spiritual battle. For example, screaming at the demon, or physically slapping the individual does nothing to the demon. In fact, the demon is enjoying your display of ignorance and it wants you to make that person suffer more. It knows at that point you do not know who you are in Christ, and you are unaware of the authority in the name and in the blood of Jesus that you have been given.

To force this demon to leave you will have to create a spiritual atmosphere that the demon cannot handle being in. This means you will have to activate spiritual weapons that are supernaturally stronger than it is.

DEMONS OBEY THE FOLLOWING:

1. The authority of the name of Jesus.that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,” Philippians 2:10.

2. The supernatural activation of the power of the blood of Christ. “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed,” Isaiah 53:5.

3. And they will obey you when they know that you clearly understand that you have dominion over them. “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you,” Luke 10:19.

TO CREATE THE RIGHT ATMOSPHERE YOU WILL NEED TO:

1. Spend time in prayer and fasting. “So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting,” Matthew 17: 20-21.

2. Activate the fruits of the Spirit. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law,” Galatians 5:22-23.

3. Pray in the Holy Spirit.

  • You need to activate supernatural power over the enemy – But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth,” Acts 1:8.
  • The Holy Spirit will pray through you what is needed – Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God,” Romans 8:26-27.
  • You need to keep yourself strong throughout the entire battle. –He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church,” 1 Corinthians 14:4.

4. And you will need to kick out the doubters and unbelievers from the place. You may actually need to leave the place that is familiar to the one possessed by the demon and bring them into your territory where hopefully is saturated with the presence of the Lord. When Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, He said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. And the report of this went out into all that land,” Matthew 9:23-26.

AFTER THE DELIVERANCE YOU WILL NEED TO:

After the deliverance has taken place you must do the following as we are taught in Matthew 12:43-45 to keep the demons from returning. “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.  Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”

  • Renew your mind and your ways as you read God’s Word. My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.
    Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life,” Proverbs 4:20-23.
  • Develop relationship with God as you pray (talk to God) in your natural language and build yourself up as you pray in the Holy Spirit. “Then you will call on Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you,” Jeremiah 29:12. And again in 1 Corinthians 14:4a, He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself .”
  • Keep the spiritual atmosphere clean as you listen to praise and worship music.See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,  redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,  speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,  submitting to one another in the fear of God,” Ephesians 5:15-21.

If you will work these Scriptures out to the fullest you will find the freedom from addiction that you and your loved one so desire.

Speaking in Tongues and Its Benefits

As I minister around the world I see a resurgence within the Body of Christ for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. God’s people from all denominations, whether pastors and other leaders or the people within the congregations, there is a cry for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. This is a definite move of God, as the altars are full of people desiring to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Men, women, youth, and children are activating their faith and are receiving this precious power from above. Grown men and intellectuals that have struggled for years with receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit are receiving instantly and weeping for joy as they begin to speak in tongues.

Speaking in tongues is the beginning step to being baptized in the Holy Spirit, and is for every born-again believer. Luke 5: 37-38 says, “No one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved.” When you become born-again, your spirit becomes eternally alive and Heaven bound with Jesus. Concerning the gift of tongues, it is given to all believers who believe and activate their faith to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit Peter said to them in Acts 2:38-39, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” Speaking in tongues is for all believers, from the time of the early Church on the Day of Pentecost to today with ourselves and to our children and to our grandchildren and to their children … until the day of the Lord’s return.

Speaking in tongues is the initial evidence of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” Acts 2:4. And your supernatural language from God is the evidence that you have received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. And is the beginning of your journey into the supernatural realm with the Holy Spirit.

Now, when being baptized in the Holy Spirit you must activate your faith as with any other promise of God. The Holy Spirit will not force you to open up your mouth and speak. You must cooperate with Him, open up your mouth, move your tongue and give voice to the words springing up from within your spirit. And that’s how you activate your faith to be baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

We are to speak in tongues when we pray. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 14:18, “I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all.” How often do you speak in tongues? You should speak in tongues daily, and often throughout your day. Praying in tongues opens up this miraculous realm for you.

This amazing spiritual gift of speaking in tongues has powerful benefits for you.

  1. Endued with Power. Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” Luke 24:49. This power gives you the ability to take the kingdom of God, and His promises by force and activate power to those all around. You see your enemy, satan does not want you to manifest God’s promises in your life. He battles hard against you to keep you from walking in victory. But as you learn to activate the gift of tongues when you pray you cause this enemy to loosen his grip and your miracle manifests.
  2. Speak Mysteries. First Corinthians 14:2 describes these mysteries for us. “For he who speaks in an unknown tongue does not speak to men, but to God. For no one understands him, although in the spirit, he speaks mysteries.” This word mysteries (Strong’s G3466 – mystērion) means hidden thing, secret or mystery. When you speak in tongues you speak into existence the hidden or secret things God has planned for you. I have seen this principle work time and time again in my life and ministry.
  3. Encourage Yourself. Paul admonishes us in first Corinthians 14:4 that “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.” Speaking in tongues launches you outside of the realm of depression and into the realm of joy.
  4. Magnify God. Cor­nelius and his household began to speak with tongues, and magnify God. Acts 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.” I tell you the truth that if we would begin to speak with tongues it would prevent us from magnifying the wrong things, such as the works of satan, including sickness and disease, and we would all be a whole lot better for it. Begin to speak with tongues and magnify God.

This is an amazing revival of the Spirit of God, and as God’s people begin to speak in tongues not only do they themselves change, but entire families, congregations, communities, businesses and ministries transform as well. Don’t miss out on what the Holy Spirit has for you, be baptized in the Holy Spirit, speak with heavenly tongues, and release its benefits to those around you.
